Job Summary

The Perfusionist Faculty position in the Department of Cardiovascular Perfusion is a tenure track or tenured faculty member and reports directly to the Chair of the Cardiovascular Perfusion Department.

As a tenure-track or tenured faculty in the Cardiovascular Perfusion Department, the Perfusionist Faculty's responsibilities include teaching, scholarly and professional activities as well as commitment and contribution to the intellectual life of the college and university as described in the College's Standards and Criteria for College of Health Professions Faculty Appointment, Promotion and Tenure document.

Additionally, all tenure-track faculty actively participate in student recruitment and selection activities and support the department's annual self-assessment and program review and improvement initiatives. With the consultation of the Chair, faculty may contribute to the department's efforts on complimentary professional/educational activities that serve the mission of the college.

Minimum Qualifications

Current New York State Perfusionist license (or eligible). Bachelor's degree with a minimum of three years of professional experience as a Perfusionist required. Perfusionist Faculty must have a diverse experience base in Clinical Perfusion and must hold a current certification (CCP) as a Perfusionist by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion required. If not a current NYS licensed Perfusionist, must obtain NYS Perfusionist license within 6 months of hire. *Candidates may be considered at a different title and salary based on qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's or PHD preferred. Experience with the clinical management of adult, pediatric, neonatal patients supported by extracorporeal technologies such as cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB), Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), Ventricular Assist devices and Mechanical Circulatory Support (VAD / MCS), cell salvage, Intra Aortic Balloon Pumping (IABP), and Point of Care (POC) Laboratory Testing. Experience with didactic (classroom, online LMS), simulation and clinical teaching of clinical cardiovascular perfusion skills and concepts and behaviors. Experience with contemporary perfusion simulation technologies and techniques is preferred. The successful candidate will have a history of publication and professional service.

Work Days

Monday - Friday, Days. May required evenings and weekends
