Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Clinical Lab Technologist-Trainee.

The Clinical Laboratory Science Program at York College has been structured to provide students with an education that encompasses liberal arts and basic science requirements. It is our mission to prepare students to become competent clinical laboratory scientists with knowledge, skills, and attitudes assumed by professionals as members of the health care team.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare students to work in large institutions, point of care testing sites and research laboratories as a knowledgeable member of the healthcare team.
• Provide a learning experience for students in the field of laboratory sciences.
• Have students graduate with cognitive and psychomotor skills that will allow them to become responsible professionals as they perform laboratory procedures with precision and accuracy, and complete their studies with distinct entry-level competencies.
• Provide students with appropriate courses and internship training in order to qualify for NYS licensing and national certification exams.
• Have students develop a personal philosophy incorporating legal and ethical standards that govern the practice and management of a diagnostic laboratory.

Minimum Qualifications:
This new program is accepting applications now and will select a number of employees to complete the educational requirements through York College. Employees in the program will then go on to complete the required internship onsite here at NYU Langone Health in order to qualify to become a New York State licensed Clinical Lab Technologists and then take the board certification through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
This 15-month program covers the cost of tuition along with a stipend for employees enrolled in the program. Upon successful completion of the program and NYS licensure, employees will be offered a position as a full time Clinical Lab Technologist with NYU Langone Health. The stipend is provided to help offset expenses for those who are enrolled since they will be attending school full-time and not work in their job during the program.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $32,516.64 - $53,180.92 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
