CHIEF WELLNESS OFFICER
What is Bonton?
For the last 200 years, racial injustice and systemic oppression prevented opportunities in Bonton that were a given elsewhere. People here experienced higher rates of diabetes, stroke and cancer, and 48% of residents lived in poverty. Residents have been denied access to the seven human essentials that are necessary to survive and thrive - health & wellness, economic stability, safe and affordable housing, transportation, a sense of belonging, education and access to fair credit. Today, the community is transforming, and healing is coming from within.

Bonton Farms is on a mission is to transform lives by disrupting systems of inequity, laying a foundation where health, wholeness, and opportunity are the norm for all people. While many nonprofits work to solve one issue, Bonton Farms focuses on place-based interventions to build community capacity for long-term change. As the ecosystem of community resources improves, the neighbors in Bonton use these resources to build successful, self-sufficient lives, ultimately interrupting the impact of decades of disenfranchisement. Bonton Farms’ programs focus on the following seven human essentials: economic stability, health and wellness, transportation, education, access to fair credit and community belonging.

Overview of Role:
The Chief Wellness Officer should be an experienced leader that assists in the development, execution and analysis of programs centered around the seven human essentials at the highest standard possible. Reporting to President, this executive will have experience in program development for the identified needs of Bonton interns, employees and the community.
Area/Program Focus: All programs and services offered by Bonton Enterprises follows seven essentials taken from Christian faith and believed to disrupt systems of inequity including Mental Health, Access to Fair Credit, Housing, Access to Transportation, Job Creation, Education and Health with responsibility for Intake, Ongoing Support & Referral.
Position Summary: The Chief Wellness Officer (CWO) is a senior management position providing leadership, supervision, development, oversight, and management of the Bonton Farms Seven Essentials program as well as works to develop future structure to support employees and interns. The CWO is also responsible for working to ensure that all programs and services are in compliance with accreditation standards as appropriate.

Overall Leadership:
  • Culture: Collaborate with managers to maintain a learning and supportive organizational culture to increase positive social impact.
  • Model commitment to Bonton Farms mission and planning for sustainable organizational future of the seven essentials program
  • Leadership Team Collaboration: Work with other members of the leadership team to create and continually represent a unified l leadership perspective on implementation of the seven essentials program.
  • Guide the implementation of organizational and program strategy for the seven essential program.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Assist Executive Leadership in the development of the organization’s health as it relates to staff in various areas of needs including leadership, cultural, societal, and spiritual.
  • Manage and develop those in the department for future opportunities and responsibilities.
  • Facilitate and guide implementation of seven essential program including curriculum, staffing needs, standards and procedures as it relates to program participants, compliance, data collection, reporting, trainings and participant evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, licensing, and accreditation requirements. This includes having continuing dialogue and effective reporting with external agencies.
  • Be responsible for the oversight, development and monitoring of the program budgets.
  • Assist with creating the clinical facility’s structure and functionality along with Executive Leadership team members.
  • Work with program managers and directors to maintain positive working relationship with funders. Work with other internal and external stakeholders to assess and pursue funding opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Strong management, administrative, organizational, interpersonal, verbal communication, and writing and presentation skills are required
  • Experience working within marginalized neighborhoods with adults experiencing trauma related to generational poverty, addiction recovery, homelessness and domestic violence.
  • 8-10 years of experience in social service administration or equivalent
  • Post Bachelor Degree required either in the field of Psychology, Social Work or the medical field.
  • Must have proven and strong leadership skills
