As we expand our operations and reach, we are seeking a highly talented and experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our development efforts and drive our technical strategy.


What we do: We provide a productivity acceleration platform that enables organizations to improve user adoption of complex applications.


Who you are and why we need you: As the CTO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our company's technological vision, driving innovation, and leading our engineering team. You will be responsible for managing the development process, ensuring efficient and high-quality software delivery, and providing technical expertise to guide our product roadmap. In addition, you will act as the key liaison between the engineering team, business owners, and the board of directors, ensuring alignment of technical initiatives with business objectives.


Where we’re located: This is a remote position – work from anywhere (United States of America only)


Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a technical roadmap, aligning it with the company's overall strategy and business goals.
  • Lead and manage a team of 14 engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Collaborate closely with the business owners to understand requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver effective solutions.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact on the company's products and services.
  • Oversee the software development lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.
  • Act as a representative for the development team, effectively communicating progress, challenges, and opportunities to the board of directors.
  • Drive software architecture decisions and provide technical guidance to the engineering team, promoting best practices and ensuring scalable and maintainable code.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, partners, and technical consultants to leverage their expertise and support company objectives.


Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Excellent understanding of modern software engineering practices, including Agile methodologies, CI/CD, and DevOps.
  • Proficient in multiple programming languages and frameworks, with a deep understanding of technical issues at a detailed level.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire engineering teams, drive innovation, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to translate business objectives into technical solutions.
  • Strong background in software development, with expertise in software architecture and design principles.
  • Experience in managing the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, technical design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
  • Proven experience in a similar leadership role, ideally as a CTO or Technical Director, within a startup, entrepreneurial, or fast-paced technology company.


Skills

  • Experience with implementing disaster recovery and business continuity strategies in a cloud environment.
  • Understanding of serverless computing and event-driven architectures.
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and data protection.
  • Experience with cloud-based architectures, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps principles, integrating security into the software development lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of cloud-native development practices and microservices architecture.
  • Experience with cloud monitoring and optimization tools to ensure optimal performance and cost-efficiency.
  • Expertise in AWS cloud architecture and deployment, including experience with services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and Kubernetes.
  • Proven ability to design scalable and high-performing cloud-based systems, utilizing auto-scaling, load balancing, and caching techniques.
  • Track record of successfully scaling technology infrastructure and managing technical debt.
