Responsibilities & Qualifications


The Chief Information Officer (CIO) will report to the Chief Financial Officer and will manage and oversee all functions related to information technology and systems. This new leader will be a key member of the Executive Leadership Team and provide leadership and guidance for developing and implementing information technology initiatives including ERP systems, customer-facing applications and data capabilities. The CIO will manage a staff of professionals plus outsourced resources.


The new CIO will be a business-minded leader who will create the strategy for all technology systems in support of business operations in order to improve cost effectiveness, service quality, flexibility and scalability. This executive will partner with the business leaders to create greater alignment with IT and find ways for IT to provide more innovative solutions, specifically in digital, cloud, data analytics and customer experience. The company grew through multiple acquisitions, and there is a desire to implement flexible systems capable of scaling as the business grows while allowing integration with past and future acquisitions.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Participate in strategy and operational process as a member of the executive leadership team. Present to the board on a regular basis regarding the status of IT projects and strategy.
  • Recruit, motivate and develop a superior staff. Implement a management system that is accountable to the business, encourages creativity, drives performance, and effectively develops and rewards key performers.
  • Establish strategic service provider partnerships and effective IT vendor management disciplines.
  • Ensure the security and protection of corporate information systems and equipment, align IT risk management initiatives, and lead all disaster recovery plans.
  • Develop the appropriate change management processes in support of the business process transformation across global regions.
  • Participate in company strategic business planning and identify IT and other business implications, opportunities and change initiatives to meet strategy plans and growth initiatives. Build a strong service-oriented IT culture with a willingness to change priorities as business needs evolve.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with business customers. Develop a strong working knowledge of the company's business and drive the business relationship with key internal partners.
  • Identify, evaluate and select new and emerging technologies that can be assimilated within the company to significantly improve competitive positioning, provide deeper analytics and foster innovation.
  • Lead the IT department’s operational and strategic planning, which includes fostering innovations, organizing and planning projects, prioritizing initiatives and negotiating resource allocation in support of an integrated technology road map.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Experience in developing the technology/digital strategy and budget for the company with documented success prioritizing and executing against these plans
  • Proven track record of using technology to capitalize on business opportunities
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or business administration is required
  • 15+ years of experience managing and/or directing an IT operation, ideally in the distribution or services industry
  • 10+ years of experience managing multiple aspects of technology including customer-facing solutions, ERP systems and infrastructure
