The Role:
We're hiring a Chief Technology Officer to help steer the growth of our company as we take on more enterprise-level initiatives. Our current technology department has 53 people, including developers, QA, and Cloud/DevOps. This group facilitates the development and operation of 3 eCommerce websites, ordering pipelines, and software-as-a-service platform offerings.
The Chief Technology Officer will provide guidance and support in the operations, hiring, and technical direction of the Technology Department, and position the technology group to meet the demand of increased eCommerce volume, achieving a SaaS Platform for our card-to-card gifting technology, and operating our in-house card fulfillment system.
- You have experience with eCommerce and/or with a SaaS Platform environment

- Developer Accountability - 'Done' means live, out to the world, in front of the people that are going to use it. We need people to own their work from implementation planning, through release, to ongoing production awareness.
- Qualifications:You have been a CTO in your current or last position for at least 5 years.
- Lead and organize the Managers, Directors, and VPs of the DevOps team, QA, Software Development, and technology depart.
- You have great organizational skills.
- You've led hiring initiatives for developers and other IT staff, considering team needs and make-up, as well as candidate evaluation.
- Our Technology Team The Technology Team agrees to these principles:Production Insight - We don't just write software, we run software. We ensure our applications and systems are working, and maintain insight into how they're performing and how they're being used.
- Tools of the Trade We use a number of tools, frameworks, and practices to run our organization. Some of them are: JIRA, BitBucket, Kanban, PHP/Symfony, React, NextJS, XRay, LinearB, DataDog, DataDome, Vercel, Kubernetes, AWS, Notion, and more.
- Participate in the hiring process for Software Developers, QA, ITOps, and managers within the technology group. You will be the hiring manager for some of these positions.
- Prescribe and monitor performance metrics for teams and individuals in the technology group
- Lead special, cross-team projects. Recent real examples include
- You have led technology teams of over 50 employees.
- Work with VP-level leaders to define and oversee the SDLC
- Tight Development Loop - It's cheaper to solve problems and answer questions closer to where they arise, so we have a great interest in quick reviews, quick releases, and quick adjustments.

- Standardizing application logging across teams
- Determine Application Performance Monitoring
- You are a level 5 leader, who can inspire, organize and set a clear direction.

- Competitive Compensation (Top quartile pay): The Top 75 percentile total pay range versus other local employers
Pay Range: $225,000-250,000K+
The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
