Chief Privacy Officer Opportunity in Financial Services
Location(s): Open to remote

Summary
The Chief Privacy Officer is responsible for the privacy program at Osaic, Inc. The ideal candidate for this position is an experienced Chief Privacy Officer with experience in a matrixed, multi-faceted financial services organization. We're looking for someone who will bring operational, business, compliance and legal privacy expertise with outstanding knowledge, skills and experience in regulatory related matters, and strong operational and business focus. In addition, the ideal candidate will have a consistent record of leadership, critical thinking, building positive relationships, and successful collaboration with senior business partners, stakeholders and peers.
  • Evolve the privacy champion/designate role throughout the organization.
  • Lead a team of privacy professionals, including mentoring, coaching, and development guidance. Determining responsibilities for personnel and ensuring the right people are doing the right job.
  • Provide information about the privacy program and privacy risk to the Board of Directors and Executive Leadership Team.
  • Participate in key enterprise-wide committees and initiatives to provide subject matter expertise and teamwork to minimize privacy risk.
  • Establish and work with a multidisciplinary team, including information security, compliance, HR, legal, marketing, business process owners, enterprise risk management and other internal stakeholders to ensure enterprise-wide privacy coverage.
  • Oversee and improve the existing privacy program including privacy impact assessments, business practice assessments, training and awareness, privacy notice delivery, regulatory change, vendor due diligence, monitoring and audits, control mapping, etc.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of privacy policies and procedures, monitoring program compliance, and closely partner with IT on investigation and tracking of incidents and breaches.
  • Provide advice on privacy and information management laws and regulations; anticipate and advise the company on legal trends that will have significant impact on the organization; adeptly consider business concerns when advising on organizational-level policy and legal decisions.
  • Lead negotiations in disputes and/or regulatory matters specific to privacy and information management that have a significant impact on the company.
  • Support Osaic partners including information security in responding to potential privacy events.
  • Manage privacy and information management related legal matters handled by outside counsel.
  • Work with partners in other risk and control functions such as information security, enterprise risk and anti-money laundering to ensure that risks associated with privacy events are successfully managed holistically across Osaic.
  • Provide the vision, strategy, and leadership for continued development of an enterprise privacy program in a sophisticated matrixed financial services company. This includes evaluating the existing program and setting priorities to continuously advance the program. Setting long range direction and managing and implementing programmatic changes.
Education Requirements
  • Superior matrix management and partnering skills with the ability to interact and quickly gain credibility and build collaborative working relationships to produce business results
  • Travel required: Able to travel as needed
  • Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Must be results oriented and able to adapt and deal with ambiguous and/or complex situations and manage expectations
  • The ability to build and manage relationships and facilitate collaboration and communication
  • Understanding of industry best practices in privacy and demonstrated success in program evaluation and improvement
  • Expert knowledge of global, federal and/or state laws governing data privacy
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, problem solving, presentation, project management, written and oral communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required, and 10+ years relevant experience; JD preferred; IAPP privacy credentials a plus
