The Chief Technology Officer Role
We are looking for a CTO that possesses a strong strategic mindset and exemplary leadership skills to drive our company's technology vision and growth. The ideal candidate will be experienced in overseeing growth stage startup product development, fostering innovation, and ensuring an exceptional user experience. As a pivotal member of our executive leadership team, the CTO will be responsible for scaling and optimizing our technology infrastructure, while proactively implementing robust security measures and managing resources efficiently.
This role directly reports to our Chief Executive Officer.
What are the day-to-day responsibilities of the Chief Technology Officer role?

• Foster a culture of innovation, research, and development within the technology team.
• Partnerships, Collaboration, and Compliance:
• Technology Strategy and Leadership:
• Collaborate with other C-level executives to align technology strategy with overall business objectives.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, data protection laws, and other legal requirements
• Manage and mentor remote, in office, on shore, and offshore tech and product teams for high performance and continuous growth.
• Product Development, Innovation, and User Experience:
• Lead and execute the long-term growth technology strategy aligned with business vision and goals.
• Cultivate strategic partnerships with technology vendors and potential collaborators.
• Implement and enforce robust security measures to safeguard data and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Scale and optimize technology infrastructure to support rapid company growth and enhance system performance.
• Oversee end-to-end software development lifecycle for timely delivery of innovative solutions.
• Identify and mitigate potential technology-related risks, with a focus on cybersecurity threats.
• Allocate and manage the technology budget efficiently, making strategic resource decisions.
• Technology Infrastructure, Scaling, and Security:
• Ensure a seamless user experience through collaboration with product teams and customer feedback.

Who is the ideal Chief Technology Officer?

• Detail Oriented: Ability to manage many projects and relationships at the same time
• Flexible: Ability to shift gears or campaigns as needs change
• Team Oriented and collaborative: Able to work closely with developers, product managers and other stakeholders to account for the nuance involved in curating meaningful data models.
• Consistent: Follow up and follow through matter in order to prevent backlog build up and ensure stakeholders are able to move their parts of the business forward.
• Self Sufficient: Ability to take direction or existing plans and run with the execution
• Quick Learner: Ability to ramp up quickly, learn the ins-and-outs of the data landscape and is able to support data analyst and business data consumers quickly
• Passionate: Desire to see direct impacts of their work on business outcomes.

What are the requirements for the Chief Technology Officer role?

• Previous experience as a CTO or CTO consultant
• Ability to act as an integrated partner with the ELT
• Ability to manage a team and work remotely or in office, with knowledge of Slack, G Suite and other remote work tools
• Reputation as a well-rounded project manager with exceptional go-to-market and product instincts; able to bring cross-functional teams together under common objectives
• Exceptional collaboration, communication, and leadership skills
• High EQ and low ego; you carry an executive presence regardless of years of experience
• 7+ years of experience as a technology leader scaling a startup through growth phases
• 10+ years of experience building and scaling technology solutions
