Description:


The Chief Human Resources Officer is responsible for the strategic and tactical planning, organizing, direction and evaluation of core human resource processes to meet organizational and customer needs. They are responsible for providing HR business partner services for assigned divisions of the Illinois region. These services will include human capital planning, organizing, directing and evaluating recruitment, orientation, colleague relations and retention. The CHRO will access and provide change leadership and consulting to meet the operations leaders need and support the achievement of organizational goals.


Planning


Position Responsibilities:


  • Analyzes environmental issues as well as quality and financial data and collaboratively develops systematic plans for achievement of goals.
  • Provides meaningful input to directors, vice presidents and executive leadership engaged in strategic planning activities.
  • Initiates strategic planning activities for service area and coordinates across health system to achieve goals.
  • Plans and administers compensation and benefit programs, consistent with system office guidance, to provide competitive total rewards consistent with legal/regulatory requirements.
  • Participates with the Human Resources leadership team to develop and implement a Human Resources strategic plan and supporting programs/policies, in conjunction with the system office and Loyola strategic objectives.
  • Adapts goals and plans to provide response to the environment and successfully meet challenging, but achievable goals.
  • Develops and implements manager/colleague education/communication to ensure understanding of the total rewards program.


Organizing Resources


  • Leads business partners to effectively address operational needs, enhance colleague engagement and organizational culture.
  • Plans and administers recruitment and retention programs to attract and retain high quality employees needed to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Integrates change leadership skills into daily practice of HR managers. Utilizes measurements of quality and practice of HR managers.
  • Utilizes measurements of quality and productivity to evaluate systems and staffing.


Directing


  • Directs the implementation and interpretation of Human Resource policies and procedures for LUHS. Ensures compliance with federal and state laws pertaining to human resources practice including TJC and IDPH.
  • Regularly evaluates staff and management and provides feedback related to achievement of established organizational and department goals. Completes annual performance assessments.
  • Coordinates, assesses and approves special projects.
  • Develops staff and management to use abilities and talents to accomplish goals.


Quality


  • Actively supports and promotes process improvement within areas of responsibility. Ensures that assigned areas meet or exceed regulatory requirements.
  • Creates and manages processes which contribute to continual performance improvement.
  • Provide HR reports and analysis to support business needs.
  • Develop, direct and implement HR systems, in collaboration with the system office, to ensure efficient HR processes and accurate records in compliance with all regulatory requirements.


Professional Development


  • Select, develop, manage, and evaluate staff to provide Human Resources services to LUHS.
  • Promotes education, development and research activities.
  • Actively engages in professional development to maintain current skills and knowledge of environmental trends, clinical developments/best practices and business opportunities.


Financial Management


  • Participate with the Human Resources leadership team to develop and manage respective budgets, monitors expenditures, and prepares appropriate variance reports. Develops annual budget to ensure appropriate allocation of resources to support operations and meet department and or organizational goals.


Requirements


  • Master's degree in Human Resources.
  • 5+ years of managerial experience.
  • 10+ years of job-related experience.
