Chief Business Officer Jobs

A leading company in the biotechnology industry is currently seeking a Chief Business Officer to join their team. The role will be challenging but also highly rewarding and this leader will be a key voice in the company. For the right executive, this is a fantastic opportunity with great growth prospects. Key duties include:

• Work with the CEO and COO to define a growth strategy and business plan for the company to meet its vision and goals
• Guide and facilitate various deals encompassing research, cell line and process development collaborations, M&A, asset in-licensing and out-licensing and strategic financing initiatives
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Coordinate with other departments to develop strategic partnerships or alliances that can help the organization achieve its goals
• Identify new opportunities, evaluate market trends, perform economic evaluations, propose and define appropriate deal terms, and develop strategies to help the organization grow and succeed
• Keep the business ahead of the market by constantly interpreting customer, market and technology trends and providing feedback to the Leadership Team
• Act as the Relationship Manager on all key partnerships, nurture the partnerships, maintain open lines of communication, facilitate dispute resolution and build the eco-system for the company that enables greater visibility in the market
• Provide regular reporting to the Leadership Team on progress against the business plan, risks and support required
• Build and nurture deep relationships with pharmaceutical companies, biotech tools companies, and contract manufacturers in line with the company’s growth strategy

Critical Requirements

• Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in business development
• A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field
• Recent experience in the biotechnology industry is strongly preferred
• Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)
