Position Location: Washington D.C. with Hybrid Work Schedule, Requiring 3-Days of In-Office Presence
- Identifying opportunities to leverage cross-program strengths and lead efforts to improve collaboration across organizational priorities and provide oversight to improve internal systems.
- Overseeing organizational systems and processes, including adherence to Families’ project management systems.
- Providing ongoing review, evaluation, and modification of Families’ workflows and systems.
- Overseeing Project Stewards on project design and output, with a focus on quality, impact, excellence, and timeliness.
- Supervising and providing effective and positive leadership for Senior Leadership Team members and Project Stewards to ensure the effective execution of all of Families’ project work.
- The CAO will also be charged with developing a broad knowledge of our four core focus areas and being actively involved in all of Families’ projects and departmental? functions.
- Leading the development of Families USA’s organizational and project-related strategic goals and objectives.
- Collaborating with the Executive Director as the management liaison to the Board and the various Board committees. Working to ensure that Board goals filter into day-to-day management.
- Providing leadership and support to cultivate a high-performing Senior Leadership Team.
- Supporting the Senior Director of Talent and Happiness in attracting, retaining, and developing a best-in-class staff.
- Maintaining continuous lines of communication with Senior Leadership Team members and Project Stewards and keeping the Executive Director informed of critical organizational issues.
- Serving as senior advisor to the Executive Director on staff and internal workflows and policies and supporting the ED in the overall management of the organization.
- With strong support from the Senior Director of Talent and Happiness and Senior Director of Finance and Operations, overseeing daily internal operations and ensuring that organizational operations are smooth and efficient.
- Overseeing and supporting Senior Leadership Team members and Stewards to actualize strategic initiatives that build consensus around Families USA’s Theory of Change and Theory of Action.
