About The Team

The Americas help deliver a personalized shopping experience and seamless access to inventory from down the street and around the world, as well as tailored shopping experiences, including customized buying and selling. eBay seeks to drive growth into new markets and drive value in the shopping and selling experience through “building, accelerating, and disrupting.” The team is comprised of marketing, merchandising, operations, business selling, consumer selling, and shipping. Our responsibilities include all aspects of the region including operations in the US, Canada and Latin America.

We are looking for a Senior Category Manager of Streetwear Apparel to join our team at eBay. In this role you will be the business lead of the Streetwear Apparel category. If you have a passion for Streetwear and a background in digital commerce, we would love to hear from you!

The Opportunity

The role is to define and drive the Streetwear Apparel strategy to promote eBay’s value proposition with apparel buyers and sellers. Working with internal and external partners, you will be the hub that connects multiple initiatives to bring new and pre-loved Streetwear Apparel into the lives of eBay buyers throughout the world.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Streetwear Apparel business with P&L ownership.
• Play a lead role in developing the Streetwear Apparel strategy within the larger framework of the Fashion vertical and eBay’s company-wide initiatives. Clearly articulate this vision to internal peers and senior leadership to gain agreement.
• Stay informed of apparel industry news, particularly with Streetwear and Ecommerce, and react swiftly in response.
• Partner with consumer insight and product teams to understand the Streetwear Apparel buyer and seller experience. Apply this knowledge to drive strategic product, policy, communications, business development, marketing, and inventory initiatives in a comprehensive manner to improve buyer & seller satisfaction
• Build data-driven strategies to bring new sellers of quality supply onto the eBay platform. Partner with brands and sellers on initiatives which drive forward strategies while promoting their growth and platform satisfaction.
• Devise and lead project plans with cross-functional partners such as marketing, account managers, merchandising, and operations in order to launch new initiatives.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration to promote category through site content, paid ads, events and promotions.
• Assess large amounts of quantitative and qualitative data to make business decisions and provide accurate sales forecasts. Monitor and report on key digital and retail metrics including sales, traffic, conversion, inventory volume, return rate, and customer satisfaction. Identify impacts to budget and react to areas of opportunity.

Preferred Qualifications

• 7+ years experience leading all aspects of a category in an online retail or marketplace environment with full P&L ownership. Experience with secondhand markets and apparel preferred. Passion for Streetwear is a plus.
• Strong executive presence. Ability to communicate vision and execution plans clearly and simply.
• Advanced analytical skills. Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data from various sources to identify trends and make recommendations.
• Broad functional abilities with solid understanding of offline and online marketing, product, project management, and operations.
• Experience managing and developing teams.
• Demonstrated track record of strategic planning and execution, managing projects from idea to full implementation.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York City is expected in the range below.

$106,800 - $162,800

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
