- Provide transportation of the unaccompanied children in our program to medical and legal appointments, hearings, and other social services
- Provide language interpretation to clients for appointments out in the community, as needed
- Provide supervision of youth in the classroom, as needed
- Assist team during case emergencies
- Respectfully communicate with children, foster parents, and colleagues; effectively report the behavior of children during transportation to foster parents and other team members
- Assist with the intake process and with case documentation
- Pick up or deliver possessions
- Ensure professional boundaries are established and maintained at all times on the job, especially when supervising youth
- Provide assistance with intake and discharge related transportation to include travel from state-to-state for reunification with a sponsor
- Non-Exempt
- Regular hours entail 9:00am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday
- Must be available to work afternoons, evenings and weekends
- Bi-lingual - English-Spanish required
- Valid NYS Drivers License required
- 1-year experience working with families and children required
- Experience working in a busy human services office- strongly preferred
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Gmail applications
- High school diploma/GED required, Associates degree preferred
- Willingness and ability to drive a car or van within the 5 boroughs of New York City, and across the nation
- Word processing: Including responding to emails, composing letters, completing computerized documentation,be familiar with excel and electronic medical record system etc.: This involves sitting at a computer for several hours
- Completing paperwork -Such as copying, scanning and faxing documents
- Sit in and/or drive a vehicle up to several hours
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
