Osborne is opening their first transitional housing program for women named SHERO. We seek three full-time Residential Aides to join the SHERO Team. The Residential Aide plays a vital role in providing support and assistance to individuals residing in a transitional living environment. This position requires compassion, patience, and excellent interpersonal skills to promote the well-being and independence of residents. The Residential Aide works collaboratively with a team of professionals to ensure a safe and nurturing environment for residents.
Salary range: $21.98-$23.00 hourly
Requirements:Essential Duties:
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment for residents, promoting their independence and autonomy
- Encourage socialization and participation in community activities, promoting a sense of belonging
- Engage in active listening and provide emotional support to residents, addressing their concerns and needs
- Follow emergency protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of residents during crisis situations
- Monitor and document any changes in residents' physical or mental health status, promptly reporting concerns to the appropriate personnel
- Monitor and promptly report any incidents, accidents, or concerns related to residents' safety
- Collaborate with team members to develop and implement individualized care plans for residents
- In-person attendance is required to collaborate with co-workers
- Advocate for residents' rights and ensure their dignity and confidentiality are respected at all times
- Complete accurate and timely documentation of residents' care, activities, and any incidents or observations
- Maintain a safe and clean living environment, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards
- Facilitate resident group activities, outings, and events to promote social interaction and community integration
- Participate in team meetings and provide input on residents' progress, challenges, and goals
- Assist with meal planning and preparation as needed
- Maintain open communication with the interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care and support
- Conduct regular checks and inspections of the premises to identify and address potential hazards or maintenance issues
Minimum Qualifications:
- Additional certifications or training in a relevant field is a plus
- Active First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain within first 30 days of hire
- High school diploma or equivalency required
- Previous experience working in a supportive living or residential care setting is required
Key Competencies:
- Basic knowledge of personal care techniques and familiarity with principles of infection control
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and team members
- Compassion, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting individuals with diverse needs
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and maintain professional boundaries
