What is the opportunity?
  • Standardize all marketing material (pitchbooks, regular distribution such as runs, trade ideas, etc.) and align these to the various regional regulatory standards for strict governance.
  • The Marketing manager will be part of the Structuring team and supervise and/or execute all marketing related activitities supporting structuring and/or sales efforts across Global Markets, driving the firm's top priorities as they evolve.
  • Cordinate with RBCCM marketing teams to make our participation to conferences and events impactful and product focused.
  • This role is responsible for aligning with business objectives and product strategy to create go-to-market plans, using their knowledge of products, market, customers and competitors to develop marketing initiatives that clearly communicate the unique value our products bring to clients.
  • Raise the profile and understanding of our global strength, local capabilities and expertise. The role-holder will work in close partnership with local Capital Markets business leaders and marketing and communications colleagues in the region and globally.
  • The role-holder will work closely with the local Head of Communications and the global marketing team to proactively and collectively (when relevant) develop and deliver marketing strategies and tactics to promote and position the business in a cost effective yet impactful manner.
  • Develop and improve all relevant internal and external educational product material through a variety of channels.
  • The role will be based in London, Toronto or NYC and will lead and own the development and implementation of a robust business marketing strategy in order to help:
  • The Product Marketing Manager acts as a strategic partner to Global Markets Sales and Relationship Management. You will work on various projects and dive deep into important initiatives that impact the RBCCM globally.


What will you do?


Primary Responsibilities


  • Collaborate across businesses to develop product positioning, messaging and cross-channel marketing campaigns
  • Develop marketing product-related content for multi-channel campaigns across a wide variety of media, including brochures, pitch books, websites, videos, podcasts, email campaigns, presentations, and events
  • Work on cross-functional teams with senior-level business partners to execute strategic initiatives
  • Manage asset development with internal creative teams or external agencies to ensure deliverables and deadlines are met
  • Work with analytics to assess the effectiveness of marketing efforts.
  • Deliver creative, compelling and innovative marketing ideas that enhances positioning and impact of global marketing initiatives to drive revenue
  • Develop presentations on various Marketing initiatives and programs to share with RBCCM leadership and other internal and external partners


AUTHORITIES, IMPACT, RISK


  • Escalate operational risk loss events, control deficiencies and risks that you identify to your line manager and the relevant risk and control functions on a timely basis.
  • Facilitate review and incorporation of feedback from stakeholders and compliance


KEY RELATIONSHIPS


  • This position reports to the MD and Head of Structuring, RBC Capital Markets based in London, UK.
  • Effective partnerships with the global RBC Capital Markets’ global Communications team.
  • There will be ongoing and intensive interaction with members of the regional RBC Capital Markets business including executive team/business heads and support colleagues.
  • Close working relationships with regional Heads of Marketing and members of the global Client and Marketing Strategy group, including the business marketing, design and events teams.


WORKING CONDITIONS


  • Position will be an office / trading floor environment.
  • Position will require significant attention to detail, demanding deadlines and the ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects for multiple clients.
  • Need to be able to effectively manage competing priorities.
  • Position will operate in a high pressure environment due to the demands of the investment banking and capital markets business.


What do you need to succeed?


Required


  • 4-7 years’ experience in Financial Services Marketing or Management Consulting; prior experience with Capital Markets preferred
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while still maintaining strong attention to detail
  • Team player who can adapt to the needs of the team as they shift
  • Possess strong project management skills with experience in driving consensus across a large number of stakeholders
  • Navigate effectively ambiguous situations and be resourceful and solutions-oriented
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think creatively and tactically to drive business outcomes
  • Strong writing and presentation skills
  • Good understanding of financial products
  • Analyze and synthesize data to deliver meaningful insights to drive business decision-making

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position in New York is $132,000 - $180,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
