Join the team and work for the Council of Multiple Listings Services, an association of over 220 Multiple Listing Services! The Director of Strategic Initiatives will be responsible for creating well-vetted plans and building programs that execute the strategy and vision of CMLS leadership while working collaboratively with members and stakeholders to build support around programs and initiatives.

We are looking for a confident, organized, outgoing individual that has a natural curiosity and is energized on learning new things. Personal Accountability, Self-Management, and Creative Problem Solving skills are a must! The individual we select will be a team player with a strong balance between confidence and humility.
Responsibilities include:
- Taking ownership in the delivery of programs and initiatives that has the support of stakeholders
- Providing support to the CEO to translate the vision of the board into strategy, milestones, and a documented plan
- Working collaboratively with the Director of Operations to carry out programs and strategic initiatives
- Building and maintaining positive and open relationships with members and key stakeholders
- Creating well-vetted plans to ensure clear direction with stakeholder support
- Keeping a “finger on the pulse” and getting feedback and input to determine how to build programs and initiatives
- Creating support from the membership and key stakeholders of initiatives and programs prior to implementation
- Building on the existing vision, strategy, and programs, creating growth and new opportunities
- Helping the CEO lead, plan, and organize the annual strategic planning meetings for the CMLS Board of Directors
- Attending industry events, setting strategic meetings, taking notes, and reporting back to the team
- Identifying who needs to provide feedback and input into the creation of programs and initiatives
- Translating the vision into layman’s terms for the staff to allow them an understanding of the vision and how they can execute
- Providing ideas and strategies to the CEO to create an impact on the industry
- Working with peers to maintain an “all hands on deck” culture
- Carrying out the vision of the board by creating strategy, milestones, and written plans with the help of the staff
- Working collaboratively with the staff and gaining input from the team
- Building programs that execute the strategy and vision of the board
- In collaboration with the CEO, create the agenda and content for all CMLS conferences, events, and webinars
Additional Knowledge and skills required:
- Attention to detail
- Knowledge of the MLS
- Organizational skills
- Public speaking skills
- Excellent written, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Excellent with MS Office / Share Point / Teams
Experience:
The individual we select will have 5+ years of experience working in the real estate industry with an MLS, Brokerage, vendor, or association. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of translating vision into strategy and building successful programs at the national or statewide level.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree required. Business, Political Science, Communications, or Law preferred
Salary range $135,000-$150,000 yearly depending on experience with potential incentives. Generous benefits package includes 12 days PTO per year, 10 Holidays per year, 401(k) with a 3% match after 90 days, Eligible for Health, Dental, and Vision after 90 days.
