JOB SUMMARY:
The Business Manager supports, coordinates and collaborates with all units of the Rose Bowl Operating Company (“RBOC”), including but not limited to Legal/Compliance, Finance, Operations and Sales/Marketing. The Business Manager is tasked with creating, implementing and managing systems and processes based on the Department’s business goals that drive efficiencies and optimize productivity both within the Department and across the organization. Major events include college football, soccer, concerts, festivals, and enterprise events. This position supports the Director of Events and the broader executive leadership team in carrying out company-wide initiatives and projects, as well as managing company-wide analytics to enhance efficiency and business performance.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Meet with and coordinate with events/finance to provide support and troubleshooting before, during and after events.
- Works closely with all RBOC departments and staff to educate them on finance, accounting and legal procedures.
- Manage all event contracts in partnership with legal, finance, sales and events department.
- Drive operational efficiencies across the Department and company, including optimizing information flow, meetings, systems, processes, and development initiatives.
- Monitor expenditures as related to event agreements and lead the settlement process with clients.
- Ensure RBOC has systems and procedures in place to support effective program implementation. Identify areas in which systems and procedures can be enhanced to increase efficiency and optimize productivity.
- Monitor and improve daily business functions to ensure they are in line with Department and company-wide strategic goals.
- Oversight and management of all budget, administrative and reporting activities for the RBOC Events Department. Act as liaison between the Events Department and the Finance Department as well as other departments across the organization.
- Develop, support, and maintain detailed work plans, timelines, and status reports on key initiatives.
- Lead/initiate development of processes that strengthen RBOC’s ability to support finance reporting.
- Develop and implement training programs to maximize and reach optimal individual and organizational goals.
- Analyze and evaluate processes for operations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:(Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

Ability to:

Education and experience:
- Three to five years experience with sports or entertainment venue events or finance work a plus.
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Accounting/Business Administration (or similar); MBA preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Class C driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

Mental and physical abilities:(Working Conditions)
Very frequent – 20+ hours per week:
Work inside, speaking on the telephone, keyboarding, use of sight, hearing, speaking, eye-hand coordination, reading, writing
Frequent – 8 to 20 hours per week:
Occasional weekend work schedule, extended hours and/or overtime. Work outside, contact with the general public.
Occasional – up to 8 hours per week:
Standing, sitting, walking, lifting, pushing/pulling, climbing, bending, squatting, reaching, exposure to noise, temperature variation, poor ventilation, dust and clutter.

Pay Range: $80,000 - $108,312
The base pay range for this position may vary depending upon a number of factors including the individual candidates’ experience, qualifications, skills and competencies. The base pay is part of an overall compensation and benefits package that will recognize the employee for their work and achievements. This position may be eligible for additional bonuses and commission incentives.
