Business Analyst Manager Jobs

Summary: This role will be a working manager position, responsible for managing a team of Business Analysts as well as preforming BA work, as required. It is imperative that all projects are well defined, scoped, and resourced. As a working manager, you will ensure yourself and the team adheres to and owns the process of taking business concepts (ideas) and formalizing them into full project proposals to be reviewed and approval by the leadership committee.

Responsibilities:

• Control the transfer of key information and data from the business case to the project management system
• Hold technical reviews where necessary to define how the proposed project will be technically executed and get the buy-in of senior tech leads within Core IT
• Create and maintain all necessary templates or documentation needed to support the project approval process.
• Submit the business case for review in front of the project approval committee
• Provide regular feedback and help to develop team members for wider roles and responsibilities
• Own the process of driving a business idea through to a fully signed off project or program which is ready for execution
• Manage a team of Business Analysts by actively coaching and mentoring direct reports on best practices and process improvements
• Build a business case which includes project scope, deliverables, budget, risk, and priority
• Once approved, hold a project kick-off with the allocated PM and team
• Build relationships with the business requestor and sponsor to understand the background to the request and the business need / priority for a project
• Assign and manage the team’s workload as new projects are being requested
• Perform mid year and year end performance reviews for team members as well as evaluate and help set goals for the coming year.

Qualifications:

• 1-2 Management experience
• Strong interpersonal skills
• An ability to interpret business requirements
• Experience in the financial services industry preferred
• Ability to work in a team and motivate others
• Strong organizational skills - able to plan, schedule, and run tight meetings
• 3-5 years BA / PM experience
• Be open, honest, and able to have a joke with other team members!
• Ability to build relationships with sponsors
• Working knowledge of JIRA, confluence, and the Microsoft suite of products
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong work ethic
