Job Description
Our client, a marketing and advertising agency is NYC, is looking for a Business Affairs Director for a 3-5 month remote contract. In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in driving the success of the agency by overseeing influencer contract negotiations, managing legal compliance, and mitigating risks. As a Business Affairs Director, you will collaborate closely with internal teams, clients, and external partners to facilitate seamless operations, protect the agency's interests, and ensure the highest level of client satisfaction.
  • This is a 40-hour/week remote contract working EST hours.
Responsibilities:
  • Assess the need for licensing third-party rights in creative materials, ensuring compliance with copyright and intellectual property laws.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and understanding of legal considerations.
  • Stay informed about changes in regulations and legal requirements relevant to marketing and advertising, proactively advising internal teams and clients on compliance matters.
  • Collaborate with creative teams to develop effective campaigns that meet both creative and legal requirements.
  • Manage influencer contract negotiations and redlines, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for our agency and clients across various marketing and advertising initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate campaign performance, utilizing data-driven insights to optimize results and enhance client satisfaction.
  • Review creative materials and campaigns to identify potential legal issues, providing actionable recommendations to minimize liability and protect our agency and clients.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices, providing insights and guidance to internal teams for strategic decision-making.
Required Qualifications:
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and metrics to make informed decisions and recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external partners.
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset, promoting cross-functional cooperation and knowledge sharing.
  • Ability to think strategically and provide creative solutions to complex legal and business challenges.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • 10+ years of proven experience in contract negotiation, contract management, or business affairs within the marketing and advertising industry.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and marketing strategies.
  • Strong understanding of legal principles, contracts, and intellectual property laws.
