DESCRIPTION

The Bridge Technician is responsible for drafting plans for civil infrastructure projects, primarily transportation related structures including bridges, retaining walls, and flood control structures. You will work in close coordination with structural engineers in plan preparation. You will have the opportunity to grow your technical competency under guidance such that you can take on increasingly challenging tasks with commensurately increasing responsibility and autonomy.

• Prepare structure design plans using either MicroStation or AutoCAD software platforms.

• Understand and adhere to agency drafting standards and details.

• Prepare quantity calculations and as-built record drawings when needed.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• A.S. Engineering Technology or related degree or certificate

• 0-5+ years of progressive work experience in structural/bridge drafting

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Knowledge of MicroStation and AutoCAD software platforms

• Knowledge of Bridge/Building Information Modeling preferred

• Knowledge of Caltrans requirements preferred

OMPENSATION

The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $80,000 annually. This will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.
