Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Contract Drafter to join our construction team. As a Contract Drafter, you will play a pivotal role in the design and development of construction projects. Your expertise in AutoCAD, 2D drafting, and architecture design will be essential in creating accurate and detailed construction plans. This is an exciting opportunity to work on diverse and challenging projects within the construction industry.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to understand project requirements and objectives.

Prepare detailed construction drawings and plans using AutoCAD software.

Create 2D drafts, blueprints, and schematics for various construction projects, including residential and commercial buildings.

Ensure that all drawings comply with industry standards, building codes, and regulations.

Review and revise drawings based on feedback from architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.

Work closely with the project team to identify and resolve any design issues or conflicts.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all drawings and revisions.

Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to ensure that construction plans are implemented correctly.

Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in drafting and design technologies.

Occasional in-person meetings with clients on as needed basis within the Boston area.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Architecture

Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Contract Drafter in the construction industry.

Proficient in AutoCAD and other drafting software.

Strong knowledge of 2D drafting techniques and principles.

Solid understanding of architecture design, building materials, and construction methods.

Excellent attention to detail and ability to create accurate and precise drawings.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.

Familiarity with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.

Sketchup or Revit Experience would be a plus for quick 3D modeling
