Job Overview: The Bloomie’s Store Manager is responsible for leading the Bloomie’s business by reimaging how people shop, bridging the physical and digital worlds in the market through seamless customer experiences. They will lead the definition of the Bloomie’s vision that will allow customers to shop seamlessly and easily across all channels. Through an inspirational leadership style, strong interpersonal skills and solid business acumen, they will guide the selling journey and inspire their team to bring the Bloomie’s mission to life. They also have an inherent passion for fashion/style, merchandise and are a strong merchant-entrepreneur. The Store Manager drives sales, service, and loyalty through their team. They create a customer centric experience that delivers the sales and profit objectives for the store. The Store Manager anticipates the daily needs of the business and responds to market/fashion trends. In today’s retail environment, our leaders are flexible and agile supporting sales results and merchandising standards.
Essential Functions:
- Provide customer-based feedback on assortment opportunities to central merchant organization to maximize sales opportunities
- Support the customer experience/ journey with quick and efficient service or personal one-on-one attention
- Lead the Bloomie’s store and respective digital teams that will deliver the stores, ecommerce and omni-channel capabilities that optimizes ROI and deliver a superior customer experience
- Develop collaborative business partnerships with Central, Merchant and Support teams that drive business performance
- Drive conversion and deliver sales by observing, coaching and role modeling customer-centric selling behaviors while providing a fun shopping environment where all customers feel welcome
- Coach team on the operational standards of the store including merchandising, floor plans, logistics, visual directives, shipments, transfers, floor moves, signing and markdowns
- On-board and coach the team on the service and selling standards of the store including client acquisition and development, digital selling, with style as a consistent inspiration
- Engage the local community; showing presence and visibility within the community; getting to know our potential customer and ensuring that what is important to our customer is important to us
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays
- Customer experience orientation
- Strong visual esthetic
- Maintains confidentiality and security of sensitive company information
- Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to work, influence and gain consensus across functional lines and at many levels. Manage conflict and resolve issues when they occur
- Ability to effectively plan, execute strategies, and juggle multiple projects – can identify primary and secondary objectives, prioritize tasks, and communicate timeline and actions needed to stakeholders. Ability to monitor and maneuver workflow to achieve priorities
- Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year college or university
- Strong collaboration and relationship orientation: Ability to build partnerships with key business stakeholders to identify opportunities to leverage smarter decision-making across our organization. Collaboration skills are critical
- Entrepreneurial mindset
- Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, and all levels of internal and external business partners. High level of confidence and independence
- 3-5 years related experience
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge and/or experience with Contemporary Women’s Apparel is preferred
