Birch Hills Golf Shop Sales Clerk

The Birch Hills Golf Shop Sales Clerk checks in guests for play, takes payment for services, and merchandise, including some food and beverage sales. Previous golf operations experience is preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support company policies for employee and customer safety.
• Support objectives, policies, programs, and fiscal practices of golf operations are implemented, administered, and maintained.
• Perform and Manage all required opening & closing procedures and security of the owner’s assets.
• Perform other duties as requested by WGP Corporate Staff, and/or the Facility Operations Manager.
• Assist the management and daily operations of the Golf Shop, Guest Services and the Driving Range.

Ensure daily operations standards are followed every day.

• Manage and Maintain constant communication with the Starter/Greeter, Guest Services Manager, Cart Attendants, and Player Assistants.
• Complete state-mandated TIPS certification for safe alcoholic beverage sales and service (canned beer, etc.)
• Obtain a state-mandated Food Handlers' card to support snack bar sales and service.
• Provide exceptional customer service. Ensure that all arriving and departing guests are properly greeted, questions answered, directions given and thanked for visiting the facility.
• Keep all areas clean and well organized.
• Make sure all areas are clean and always stocked with necessary supplies.

Two years prior work experience at a Golf Course preferred

• Public golf course experience preferred.

Technology Experience required

• Windows Office Suite Experience preferred.
• Point of Sale Experience required.
• Web-based operating system experience preferred.

Customer service experience

• Exceptional grooming habits including maintaining clean and complete uniform as designated by Management.
• Punctual and reliable
• Required to be available for work on all major holidays and weekends.

Physical, Environmental, Cognitive and Social Requirements:

• Sitting, standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, twisting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, grasping, stand for long periods of time, sometimes outdoors exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions (hot and cold) and moderate to loud noise level.
• Frequently required to stoop, bend, crouch, and squat climb, kneel, in and out of golf carts, and to twist at the neck and waist, reach above and below shoulder level, push and pull when retrieving, storing, and moving golf bags; use dominate hand and fingers to feel and grasp, push and pull and for fine manipulation to detail carts, clean clubs and use two-way radios.
