Overview


The Golf Galaxy District Manager is responsible for achieving District sales and financial & metric results while ensuring company objectives are met, through entrepreneurial ownership and strategic execution of Company initiatives. This includes driving profitable sales, cultivating an industry leading golf experience, and providing feedback to CSC partners to help accelerate the business. In addition, the GGXY District Manager is accountable for consistent visual merchandising standards and operational execution. The District Manager serves as a key field business partner for interaction with various departments of the Customer Support Center to define and execute the Merchandising and Marketing Plans for each store.


Drives Sales and Profitability: Drives profitable sales and business performance by meeting or exceeding established objectives in sales, store contribution, KPIs, expenses, general profit and loss categories, and program metrics. Analyzes and evaluates product and performance data to drive key item and department performance. Identifies store opportunities to work collaboratively with Store Support Center business partners to remove obstacles in order to drive profitable sales and achieve store plans through entrepreneurial leadership.


Creates the Athlete Experience: Ensures that stores are delivering on our Common Purpose and Hassle Free experience for each of our teammates and athletes. District manager will help store teams focus on driving the Equipment business, Fitting protocol and driving the Special Order business within each store. They will also deliver and execute plans that enable store teams to be focused on creating engagement and loyalty in each community. Has a deep understanding of each store's customer base in order to ascertain specific needs and utilizes information to empower the Store Managers to pursue specific product needs for their market. Monitors competitive activity to develop and implement an effective business strategy for the District. Leads by example and fosters an athlete focused culture that drives sales. Expect DM to visit each store at least once every two weeks.


Builds the District Talent Pool: Recruits, develops and retains the right people for each position enabling us to drive positive business results in each market. Ensures managers and teammates are properly on boarded, trained and developed for their role, while providing appropriate feedback, recognition, coaching and development, including accountability as needed.


Implements the Company Vision: Directly responsible for consistent execution of Company service standards, merchandise presentation standards, and process execution in every store across the District. Drive product sales and replenishment requests and ensures that all store are merchandised in accordance with Company direction for Game Plans, flow and adjacencies, signage and pricing, replenishment and recovery procedures. Ensures store are consistently merchandised in a manner that maximizes every athlete experience.


Acts as Liaison Between the Field and CSC: Effectively plans, prioritizes and communicates key responsibilities to the store management teams to ensure consistent and effective execution. Spends the necessary time analyzing reports to identify strengths and opportunities between stores and the district overall. Forges strong relationships with business partners, both in the field and Store Support Center, related to standard operating procedures, Loss Prevention and Human Resources.


Experience Required


5-7 Years Multi-Unit experience


5+ years of Store Manager experience, possess a High Golf IQ - technology/equipment/club fitting and instruction


Full understanding of DSG/GGXY Custom Club Fitting Program


Ability to Train, Teach and Develop teammates
