Job Description

SUMMARY

The Shop Assistant is responsible for maintaining a clean work environment in the shop and yard. The Shop Assistant will take direction from the Shop Foreman for their daily duties, or as directed by the General Superintendents.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Good organization skills for product and material receiving.
  • Keeping the shop clean inside and out.
  • Fill in on construction projects as an Expeditor when needed to maintain project schedules.
  • Help in implementing OSHA standards and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Coordinate the servicing of equipment and tools.
  • The ability to comprehend and prioritize the daily tasks and deliveries given from the Shop Foreman.
  • Assist in documenting equipment maintenance.
  • Have a good working relationship with subcontractors, vendors, and fellow employees.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Flexible schedule.
  • Computer literate.
  • Regular and consistent attendance.
  • Excellent organizational and follow-through skills.
  • Experience in construction/equipment operation is preferred.
  • Comfortably and safely operate hand/power tools and equipment.
  • Ability to multi-task projects.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA requirements and standards.
  • Ability to work well with diverse groups or individuals.
  • Valid driver’s license.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School diploma, construction experience preferred
