Bi Data Engineer Jobs

The data engineer will be responsible for gathering, understanding, and implementing business requirements through the design, development, and management of Enterprise Integration, Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), and Business Intelligence (BI) technologies.

This role will help define and implement the data strategy for the organization: how data is shared across the organization and how it is used for decision support purposes. This includes the ongoing implementation of the new integration toolset, Business Intelligence tools (including Microsoft Synapse, Fabric, Azure, and Power BI) and all technologies related to the storage, retrieval, transformation and reporting of data.

This role develops, manages and updates data models (physical & logical) and metadata definitions in appropriate domains: source systems, staging or ODS, data marts, and EDW.

Key skills include strong relational and dimensional modeling, excellent analytic & communication skills. Knowledge of business domains required, including sales, distribution, supply chain, marketing, financial, etc.

• Strong data modeling abilities, including understanding of ODS and EDW design and implementation
• Experience using Microsoft DevOps for tracking and deployment
• Strong experience in the Azure Cloud data ecosystem, Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Azure Analysis Services, Data Lakes, Logic Apps, and Power Apps
• Design and implement conceptual and logical models for the data warehouse or data mart (data structure, storage, and integration). Lead the database analysis, design, and build efforts for Power BI
• Work with end users, business analysts, technical architects, and application developers to define the data requirements and data structures for both Enterprise Integration and Business Intelligence solutions
• Providing technical leadership and guidance in the adoption and implementation of Microsoft Cloud tools and technologies.
• Develop data standards for maintaining clean data across the BI environment
• Evolve data models to meet new and changing business requirements and growth
• In-depth knowledge of data architecture principles, data modeling, data integration, data storage concepts and data governance and data management practices.
• Participate in validation, data quality management, and governance reviews
• Hands-on experience in designing and implementing data solutions using Microsoft Azure services, such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Synapse.
• Assessing and optimizing existing data architectures and recommending improvements to enhance performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
• Define, capture and document metadata and rules associated with ETL processes
• Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Candidates with experience in creating documentation, tutorials, or knowledge-sharing resources. They should be able to document processes, best practices, and guidelines to support the team's learning and growth.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Strong experience with integration tools, ideally cloud-based
• Demonstrated data modeling expertise including a strong understanding of data sources, relational and dimensional modeling, effective uses of business data (validity, timeliness, and benefit)
• Understanding of both traditional and latest cloud-based or hybrid BI Architecture
• Strong experience with Power BI and associated tools
• Ability to specify and document data warehouse and data mart requirements
• Strong analytical, and communication, skills are required
• The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree with 7+ years’ experience in Enterprise Integration, Enterprise Data Warehouse or Business Intelligence related fields with progressively increased levels of responsibility
• Experience working with analytics and machine-learning deliverables
• Experience delivering solutions using newer generation data visualization tools and methods
• The ability to facilitate prototyping sessions with a variety of end users and stakeholders
• Ability to listen to others and a passion for affecting change are important traits for this job
