Bi Data Analyst I

POSITION SUMMARY:The Analyst sits on the Data Analytics team and serves as the point-of-contact for all questions data stored in the Data warehouse. This position develops, maintains, and distributes presentations and reports. The Analyst extracts data from the data warehouse to answer ad hoc questions. The Analyst will also in analyzing requirements for report requests that are coming to the BI cross functional teams. The Analyst applies their understanding of the business and the data warehouse to evaluate information needs and recommends and develops appropriate solutions (metrics, analyses, data collection, tool functionality, etc.)

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
• Provides insights and serves as a subject matter expert for all data in the warehouse.
• Supports the development of standard data analyses, reports, and dashboards.
• Helps with creating and maintaining the data catalog for the warehouse and BI metrics.
• Documents requirements for data science and reporting projects.
• Researches and resolves data inquiries and requests.
• Collaborates with other teams to gather data and build relationships.
• Writes ad-hoc SQL queries to pull data out of the data warehouse.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
• Strong communication skills to work with business stakeholders.
• Experience with analytical tools such as R studio, Sagemaker, or other equivalent tools.
• Strong working knowledge of SQL.
• Completion of the Republic Services Apprentice Program or similar experience
• Experience with reporting tools (SSRS, Qlik, Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
