This job is an AV tech at a retirement community. They have monthly board meetings and also concerts/stage plays. looking for a well rounded person to run sound/video/lights for a show/event. There will be team of volunteers from the community that will help run shows.
Here is a list of task the volunteers made of what the current AV tech does.
Audio
1.“Admin” of Sound Board
a.Sets system definitions and fader/button definitions
b.Saves “shows” (i.e., configured defined settings for a particular show)
c.Performs routine backups of all sound board definitions and saves data
d.Updates Software on Sound Board
2.Reviews contract riders from proposed performance groups to verify we can support their requirements (mainly for OHSPA and Rec. Department performances)
3.Knows routing of audio cables, both in Mykonos and AB Hall. (critical in troubleshooting and resolving difficult audio problems and/or relocating or adding new audio equipment\
4.Reboots stage box controller
5.Configures and maintains a list of channel shortcuts (i.e., program single key to cause a multiple key press thus reducing steps needed to perform function)
6.Changes frequency of wireless remote receiver/transmitter equipment (wireless mics use unique frequencies to communicate back to equipment in booth, sometimes needs to be changed)
7.Troubleshoots, configures and programs the Mykonos room standalone sound system (e.g., real time fixes on audio glitches during Master Board meetings)
8.Troubleshoots, configures and programs the IPAD and associated software for the Mykonos room standalone sound system. Keeps Software up to date
9.Troubleshoots and configures the stage racks and all the equipment behind the stage, including the cables and cabling.
Video
1.Troubleshoots and programs Streamdeck buttons (allows names at bottom of screen, jump to display exhibits other enhanced video features), during Master Board meetings
2.Adjusts and sets advanced Camera settings on new Video Cameras
3.Knows routing of video cables, both in Mykonos and AB Hall. (critical in troubleshooting and resolving difficult video problems and/or relocating or adding new video equipment
4.Physically balances new cameras on tripod stands so they stay motionless when not touched and move smoothly when volunteer is working and moving the camera
5.Physically moves the overhead stage cameras
6.Downloads and keeps all software, operating systems and applications, up to date on all computers involved in the video process
7.Troubleshoots video network and equipment (e.g., sometime Local Area Network IP addresses “drift” and change on their own.Addressing needs to be restored and/or equipment rebooted and software re-installed)
8.Sets up, configures, and administers Zoom sessions from Mykonos and the Hall (e.g. Master Board meetings)
9.Records HOA Minutes (many need to be updated due to improvements in facilities and/or changes in procedures made during the Pandemic and more recent changes.Valuable for new residents.
Lighting:
1.Keeps Back-up of lighting board basic and show configurations
2.Adds lights to software and updates the “lights address scheme”
3.Manually adds light network address (light “ID” number) into back of lights.
4.Sets up light board (programs which buttons control which lights and keeps a record of the information)
5.Develops and adds “lighting schemes” and assigns them to buttons (e.g., St Patrick party lighting, Tri-City lecture”
6.Creates light board templates (labels describing what actions programable buttons are currently set to perform when pushed)
7.Physically adjusts and/or relocates lights in the Hall.
8.Provides technical support for Lighting Volunteers.
9.Performs Software updates on the ETC – Colorsource light board
10.Schedules routine maintenance on microphones and keeps accurate inventory
Presentation Server
1.Troubleshoots, configures, and programs all the equipment and wiring that comprises the “Presentation Server”.
2.Updates the software on all the components of the Presentation Server, and the IPAD that controls it, keeping it up to date
3.Troubleshoots, configure and programs the IPAD that controls the Presentation Server
4.Periodically checks and maintains inventory of all microphones associated with the presentation server.
Broadcast
1.Edits recordings using video editing software (done for all programs that are recorded)
2.Uploads and adds edited recordings to Channel 1960
3.Uploads and adds edited recordings to the “On Demand” section of OHCC Website
