Associate Scientist/Scientist, R&D

Garuda Therapeutics seeks to create a world which eliminates the dependency on donor or patient cells for blood stem cell transplants. Our platform technology for generating off-the-shelf, self-renewing blood stem cells is poised to provide patients with rapid and broad access to consistent, durable, HLA-compatible transgene-free blood stem cell therapies. Like bone marrow transplants, our technology could provide potentially curative therapies for more than 70 diseases.

Garuda Therapeutics is seeking highly motivated scientists/research associates to join its growing team. Successful candidates will be integral in developing stem cell-derived therapies for hematologic disorders. The position requires enthusiasm, dedication, attention to detail, and teamwork ability. The position will be located in Natick, MA or Cambridge, MA.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Perform xeno-transplant in murine models, collect and analyze blood and bone marrow samples.
• Collaborate closely with scientists from cross-functional teams to coordinate workflows.
• Maintain a high level of productivity, with clear and accurate documentation of experiments.
• Effectively report research progress and planned activities through oral and written presentations.
• Differentiation of pluripotent stem cells and related functional analysis.
• Culture and expansion of pluripotent stem cells while ensuring quality of the culture.
• Optimize and troubleshoot procedures and develop protocols to guide internal work.

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to work effectively across multi-functional groups.
• Experience in executing and analyzing experiments.
• Strong problem solving skills, a strong sense of urgency, keen attention to detail, and the ability to successfully execute in an environment under time and resource pressures.
• Highly self-motivated and flexibility in working schedule to accommodate weekend work if necessary.
• BS or MS with 1-2 years of experience (Associate Scientist) or PhD (Scientist) in cell biology, molecular biology or related discipline.
• Authorized to legally work in US.
• Strong communication skills. Able to work both independently and in a team environment
• Detail-oriented, with good organizational, prioritization, and time management proficiencies. Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience with mammalian cell culture and cell-based assays.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with multicolor flow cytometry is a plus.
• Experience with murine model is a plus.
• Experience with human pluripotent stem cell culture and differentiation is a plus.
