We are looking for an Associate Scientist I to join a fast-paced Service laboratory that will prepare and sequence long-read libraries for metageomic, amplicon, clonal and targeted assays. This position is primarily a lab-based role which will involve processing of samples from our external collaborators and performing NGS analysis on them, as well as assistance in assay development and optimization. Essential Functions And Responsibilities

• Preparation of sequencing libraries from case and control samples.
• Presentation of results and conclusions to colleagues.
• Assessment of sequencing results to determine outcomes, identify challenges and propose improvements.
• Maintenance of strong working relationships within a multi-disciplinary environment
• Preparation of reports and communication to colleagues, seeking feedback for refinement of approaches.

Education And Experience

• Detail-oriented, organized, ability to implement complex protocols.
• Background in NGS library preparation and basic analysis skills would be advantageous.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong background in applying techniques of molecular biology.
• Proven laboratory experience in the area of life sciences (can be academic or industrial).
• Proficient in standard computer skills.
• Bachelors with 4+ years experience, or Masters with 0-2 years experience is required.
• ISO and GMP knowledge.
• Excellent lab notebook notation skills – must be precise and accurate.

Base Compensation Pay Range: $80,000 - $87,000
In addition to base compensation, you will be eligible for stock options, discretionary annual bonus, no cost health insurance plans, 401k with company match, and flexible paid time off.
Please Note: Base compensation will depend on multiple factors, including geographic location, qualifications, and experience.
