Job Summary


The Scientist in Exploratory R&D will be responsible for process development and improvement. In particular, he/she will be involved in optimization and troubling of cell culture processes, in order to establish a consistent and improved cell culture method for primary cells, hybridoma cell lines and other relevant cell types. This role will also support new product development for cell culture applications, such as media and supplements. Knowledge of process development in small and large scale is a plus.


He/she must have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy. Be able to maintain good documentation practices of experiments and generate reports. Must be proficiency in computer software use (Excel, Word and PowerPoint). Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task. Must be collaborative and good communication skills.

  • Design and conduct experiments.
  • Troubleshooting and conduct process improvements in collaboration with R&D, Product Development and Manufacturing cell culture teams.
  • Lead the development of new projects
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with teams including R&D, Product Development, Manufacturing, and Quality Control.
  • Develop optimized scaling procedures that address cost, time and quality for bioreactors.
  • Create ISO compliant documentation and train affected team on new processes
  • Provide scientific leadership and technical expertise
  • Capable of multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced goal driven environment
  • Other projects or responsibilities as may be required.

Minimum Qualifications – Education And Experience


  • M.S. with generally more than 8 yrs of relevant working experiences.
  • Ph.D. with generally 2-4 years of post-doctoral training or relevant working experiences


Preferred Qualifications – Education And Experience


  • Experience in process development and optimization for stem cells and/or hybridoma cell culture
  • Media development experience for bioprocessing applications
  • PhD in the sciences with 2+ year’s relevant experience, preferentially in immunology, biotechnology or pharmaceutical field, or Master’s Degree and 8 years of relevant experience


The base salary range for this full-time position is $90,000 - 120,000. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.


Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses, equity, or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a laboratory environment with occasional data entry on a computer. Occasional exposure to a warehouse environment.
