Associate Operations Analyst Jobs

In this position, you will help us grow the Yahoo Search business by being the point person on key structural workflows:

• Supporting various Yahoo Search business processes: We have a Biz Ops team that coordinates our hiring processes, our “capitalized labor” process, and more. These are critical tasks that require additional resources as we grow the business. You will initially help another team member on one or more of these processes and eventually handle an entire process (or multiple processes) yourself
• Managing our procurement and payment process: Yahoo Search pulls in content from many external vendors and we need to pay them efficiently and sort out issues when they arise. We have dedicated procurement teams that handle the actual invoices and payments but Yahoo Search needs someone to coordinate with that team, to gather approvals, and interface with key stakeholders. A typical example here is reading the vendor contract, submitting a payment requisition for this quarter or year’s payment, and following through to ensure that approvals happen on time and that the vendor gets paid.

What’s Expected

• You’re comfortable with online dashboards and systems for tracking, submitting forms, etc. Many of our systems are proprietary so we don’t expect you to have experience with them; you are ready for this and will master them by watching training videos, learning from colleagues and asking questions.
• You have an action-oriented mindset that balances creative problem solving with the desire to run through walls to get things done.
• You are comfortable interacting with external companies. Sometimes payment issues will need to be solved through discussion and troubleshooting with a counterpart at an external vendor. When you interact with them, you’re professional and cordial since we work with vendors in a partnership mindset.
• You believe in process: If there is no established process, you connect the dots and develop/document one. If there is an existing process to follow, you examine it with a critical eye and aren’t afraid to suggest improvements.
• You like numbers and data. Much of what you’ll be coordinating here involves millions of dollars of payments.
• You like learning new things and taking on new challenges. We’re growing as a business and we want people that want to grow with us.
• You are very organized. Keeping track of 15+ different payment approvals all at different stages doesn’t phase you. Using the systems available, you can prioritize your efforts and move things forward.

What You Bring

Education / Certifications / Experience

• Some experience working in business or finance operations. Prior experience in vendor management, procurement, or a service-oriented ops role is a plus. You do not need 5+ years experience, but some related experience will make the transition to this role easier.
• Bachelor degree with a preference in Operations, Finance, or related field

The compensation for this position ranges from $46,500.00 - $96,875.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives. Yahoo has a high degree of flexibility around employee location and hybrid working. In fact, our flexible-hybrid approach to work is one of the things our employees rave about.
