The Role

We are seeking a hands-on Portfolio Management & Investor Relations Associate to join our team in either our New York or Los Angeles office.

As an Associate, you will play a crucial role in coordinating with the Portfolio Management and Investor Relations teams to support client relations. A successful candidate for this role will have experience with Fund reporting, client coordination, and investor communication.

Reporting to the Vice President of Portfolio Management, you will also collaborate with the Fund Operations, Asset Management, and Acquisitions teams on various projects and initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in real estate investments while working with a talented and dedicated team.

Responsibilities:

Investor Relations

• Develop business knowledge and articulate Breakthrough’s investment strategy, platforms, and competitive advantages to both existing and potential investors and other stakeholders.
• Use Juniper Square to onboard investors; Maintain investor communications within the platform.
• Administer electronic delivery and file management for investor communications such as subscription documents, distribution notices, and other important reports and certifications.
• Coordinate highly technical investor requests through resolution, strengthening communication between clients and internal teams.
• Respond to investor questions regarding performance and reporting.

Marketing/Fundraising

• Work with the Corporate Communications & Branding team to execute programming initiatives such as conferences or events to help raise brand awareness.
• Collaborate in the preparation of marketing content including, but not limited to, pitch books, case studies, due diligence material, and custom presentations.
• Work closely with internal/external Equity Capital Markets team to support fundraising efforts, securing materials and responses for DDQs/RFPs and investor meetings.

Portfolio Management

• Support ongoing compliance function with fund, investor, and joint venture documents.
• Monitor portfolio diversification against thresholds and monitor industry economic and market trends.
• Report investment and portfolio return details to internal parties and external investors.
• Take on ad hoc projects and support all other teammates with their work as needed
• Prepare quarterly reports, presentations, and asset reviews for senior management and investors.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Financing, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• Demonstrated competence with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Experience with Juniper Square or similar software is a plus.
• Direct experience in private equity institutional funds will be a plus.
• 3-5 years of related experience Client Service / Investor Relations, Portfolio Management, Accounting, Acquisitions, or Asset Management.
