Assistant Merchandiser, Leather Goods & Accessories

It’s an exciting time to join LOEWE as we go through a period of rapid growth. As a key member of the Merchandising team in the Americas, the Leather Goods & Accessories Assistant Merchandiser will be supporting the LG Merchandise Manager in key categories like Handbags, Small Leather Goods, Jewelry, and Belts. You will provide organizational support and business making decisions to execute the ambitious growth in these categories for the market.

This position will report to the LG Merchandise Manager, Americas and will be based in New York.

Key responsibilities:

• Travel to Paris 2x a year for major buying sessions. Domestic Travel will be based on the needs of the business & in store events
• Monitor and understand daily/weekly business opportunities/challenges by market, advise and recommend next steps to LG Merch Manager
• Survey competitive landscape. Provide insight and support LG Merch Manager in crafting competitive analysis to share with Central counterparts
• Analyze price differentials and competitor benchmarks for pricing strategies in conjunction with HQ
• Ability to maintain daily business during Manager travel
• Provide End-of-Season recaps, market prep, and compiling store feedbacks and needs.
• Maintain strong working relationships with internal cross-functional business partners (Merchandising, Retail, HR, Marketing, Store Development, Wholesale)
• Participate & edit seasonal product trainings

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following skills and expertise:

• Passion for the fashion and luxury goods industry
• Ability to identify problems, demonstrate use of initiative and implement appropriate solutions.
• Ability to work closely across global teams and local teams. Strong and effective interpersonal and communication skills. Easily demonstrates passion and enthusiasm to champion team environment.
• Strong PC Skills: Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, and Word. Prior experience with Microstrategy and CEGID is a plus.
• Well organized and detail oriented. Excellent work ethic and ability to multi-task.
• Comfortable meeting tight deadlines in a fast growing environment with constantly evolving priorities.
• 20% travel domestic and international. Ability to travel adhoc at short notice internationally and domestically.
• Minimum of 2 years of related buying experience

The compensation for this position ranges from $70,000- $80,000k annually. The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidate’s relevant skills and experience. In addition, there is a comprehensive benefits package including: medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, various paid time off programs, employee discount/perks, and a retirement plan with employer contribution.
