Job Description
Join our team as a part-time Guest Experiences Assistant Manager I. This position will assist in overseeing operations at the Winton Woods Harbor. Although the focus of the role will be on the boathouse, it will also include overseeing daily operations of the Welcome Booths and the Snack Bar. At Great Parks, our team members work together to preserve and protect natural resources and to provide outdoor recreation and education to enhance the quality of life for present and future generations.


  • Enforce work rules such as dress and personal hygiene requirements.
  • Performs job duties in accordance with Great Parks policies, procedures, and performance expectations.
  • Reviews invoices.
  • Work assigned shifts alongside co-workers and may be required to work outside of the normal schedule as needed. Various shifts will include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Account for daily cash transactions, complies with all cash handling policies and enforces cash control procedures including POS operation, daily deposits, shift/change tills, and required logs.
  • Enforces food and beverage preparation requirements to ensure quality of service and food products to guests.
  • Prevents alcohol abuse by customers and handles intoxicated patrons according to procedures established by the Alcohol Awareness program.
  • Monitor food and merchandise inventory levels, conducts inventory counts, order food merchandise as needed, and track/control food waste and merchandise returns.
  • Assist and lead boathouse staff in performance of job duties and responsibilities.
  • Assign tasks, provide direction, and ensure quality performance overall.
  • Be required to fill in shifts for absences, as well as provide additional assistance during peak activity times.
  • Complete Park trainings as assigned and assisting staff to complete trainings as assigned.
  • Oversees events and activities at the assigned park and other park locations.
  • Receive and resolve guest concerns and complaints, resolves problems and provides recommendations on corrective actions if necessary.
  • Assist in training part-time staff.
  • Maintain confidentiality of confidential and sensitive information.
  • Assists in promoting food and merchandise sales through daily public relation contacts with customers and development of sales promotions and special events.
  • Refer any disciplinary issues to the Guest Experiences Manager for review
  • Prepare and submits reports
  • Ensures cleanliness and sanitary conditions of food service areas, wet playgrounds, and other work areas.


Qualifications


An appropriate combination of education, training, course work and experience may qualify an applicant to demonstrate required knowledge, skills, and abilities. An example of an acceptable qualification is:


High school degree or GED


Must be at least 18 years of age.


License & Certification Requirements


State Motor Vehicle Operator’s License that meets Great Parks current carrier guidelines.


ServSafe Food and TIPS Alcohol Service Certification to be taken within one year of employment.
