Assistant Director, Graduate Admissions
Admissions Counselor II

Graduate Admissions
The Office of Graduate Admissions is responsible for recruitment, admissions and all related functions for the Marshall MBA Full-Time, MBA.PM (part-time), Executive MBA, and IBEAR MBA programs. The USC Marshall MBA programs are committed to transformative learning, a culture of inclusion, collegiality, cooperation, and teamwork. The Office is responsible for admitting high-caliber students each fall in alignment with quantitative and qualitative success metrics established for the admissions cycle. Students receive an exceptional education, learn from USC Marshall’s leading faculty, access top-notch career services, and join a prestigious network. The general responsibilities/duties aligned with this position are as follows .
Responsibilities And Duties
Strategic Planning
  • Maintain knowledge of degree programs of competitive institutions of higher education. Stay abreast of new schools and new programs and their competitive advantages or disadvantages.
  • Contribute to development of recruiting strategies and marketing plans (including pipeline-building, outreach, events, and marketing).
Recruiting/Application/Yield Management
  • Coordinate yield events, including managing the participation of staff from other Marshall departments, and the inclusion of external partners such as alumni .
  • Interview candidates and recommend admission decisions.
  • Coordinate and participate in events and initiatives designed to ensure competitive levels of diversity in the incoming class (women, underrepresented minority, LGBTQ…).
  • Utilize the online application system and other databases.
  • Represent the Marshall School of Business at recruiting events primarily in the local area .
Marketing/Communications/Relationship Management
  • Develop and deliver presentations for live and virtual information sessions. Research technology platforms for delivery of virtual presentations and communique.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with prospective students, alumni, current students and staff to optimize communications and create opportunities for Admissions.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Coordinate MBA. PM program representation with office leads responsible for 3rd party recruiting partners, including diversity groups and school groups in which we have membership.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel are required.
  • Experience in a higher education environment, preferably in the area of recruiting/admissions .
  • Ability to travel domestically for recruiting events such a fairs and information sessions
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends.
  • Excellent written, interpersonal, and presentation skills .
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in the face of changing priorities and fluctuating workloads .
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum Field of Expertise: Recruitment and admissions experience with knowledge of transfer credit policies and financial aid programs
  • Minimum Experience: 2 years, Combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experience
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education

The annual base salary range for this position is $63,711.45 – $83,787.49. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
