Unravel Data is seeking an Assistant Controller who will play a critical role in maintaining the financial health of the organization and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. As a key member of the Unravel team, you will report directly to the VP of Finance, and collaborate with other key stakeholders to drive financial performance and operational excellence.

Responsibilities Include

• Communicates and solves problems with a wide range of internal and external contacts
• Oversee payroll and employee benefits
• Prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions and closing financial records
• Preparing and consolidating financial statements for multiple international entities in accordance to GAAP and managing all aspects of the GL
• Manage all day-to-day accounting operations including A/R, A/P, general ledger, fixed assets, T&E, revenue recognition, taxes, and treasury function
• Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines, policies and procedures
• Ensure timely filing of federal, state and city tax returns and other statutory filings

About You

• 5+ years of public accounting and/or a high tech organization
• Extensive experience/proven track record (7+ years) in implementing accounting controls and financial processes within a fast-growing organization
• Experience in financial management, accounting, and auditing
• Experience with financial software, such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle
• Strong ethical standards and commitment to maintaining confidentiality of financial information
• CPA or equivalent
• The ideal candidate has experience working at a startup, developing the accounting framework from the ground up
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of financial regulations, compliance, and tax laws
• Extensive knowledge and hands -on experience with accounting process, procedures and transactions that feed the GL
• Ability to identify and mitigate financial risks

$140,000 - $180,000 a year

The anticipated pay range is based on information at the time this post was created. A number of factors, including candidate skills, qualifications, location and experience, will determine actual compensation
