Ascent Private Capital Management of U.S. Bank is a division within the Wealth Management Group that exclusively services a limited number of UHNW clients with net worth more than $75MM. The California Regional team is seeking an Associate Director of Investments (ADI) with a background in the field of investments, corporate finance, and / or financial planning. The Associate Director is expected to be detail oriented, have a history of quantified achievements, and possess an intrinsic desire to succeed and grow within a high performing team.
At the direction of and under the supervision of the Managing Director and/or Director, key job functions will include drafting and documenting investment policy statements, portfolio construction, asset class risk modeling, and trading for portfolio rebalancing, implementation, or liquidation.
This position will also assist in net-worth management and financial planning services which includes, building and customizing client balance sheet reporting, personalized net worth and cash flow reporting, information management and tax reporting coordination.
Essential Functions
  • Provide support in overall investment consulting process.
  • Monitor portfolio performance through benchmarking, reporting, and compliance adherence to federal Regulation 9 standards.
  • Client related investment activities including trading, asset movement, portfolio reporting, data analysis and quality control.
  • Engage in custom projects for unique investment situations.
Qualifications
  • Investment experience should include key aspects of the investment management process including objective setting, asset classes and allocation, manager/strategy search & selection, implementation, and on-going monitoring and evaluation delivered within a team-based approach.
  • Willingness to proactively help the team and be responsible for recurring client deliverables including reporting for financial and portfolio information management.
  • Bachelors’ degree required, possession of or progress towards an Advance degree such as MBA, CPA, or CFA a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, and strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Must have exceptional Microsoft Office skills such as Excel or equivalent. Aptitude for management of large data sets and financial data analysis is important.
  • Must have a keen attention to detail and be able to communicate clearly in spoken and written word.
  • A desire to develop stronger investment and financial reporting knowledge, and meaningfully contribute to business success.
  • Will have an “all hands-on deck” and a “can do” attitude.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a financial reporting or investment role with a focus on family-owned business, wealth management/financial planning firm, public accounting firm, corporate finance or other relevant experience working with/for UHNW clients. Family Office experience a plus.
Preferred Support Functions
  • Experience with data aggregation, analysis and reporting preferred (e.g., Addepar, Black Diamond, PCR).
  • Comfortable with financial planning, navigating estate and financial enterprises across Partnerships, Trusts, Limited Liability Corporations, etc.
  • FP&A or related understanding of accounting and analysis with some level of proficiency in related software such as QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage Intacct or equivalent. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills is required.
  • Ability to independently create, analyze and review financial documents, including financial statements, tax returns, transaction accounting for cash flow and budgeting.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, US Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401k contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $104,720.00 - $123,200.00 - $135,520.00
