Application Analyst Jobs

Our client is on the hunt for a Applications Analyst to assist with Operations Support and back-up for other applications involved with supporting the line of business applications by analyzing and resolving issues, evaluating requests and coordinating between users, other Information Technology functions, and vendors. The individual best suited for this role will be ale to develop detailed, technical expertise in the specific applications assigned. Will be involved in patch evaluation, vendor provided fixes, minor and major upgrades, and implementations. This is a 100% in office position in the downtown Denver location.

What you'll be doing:

• Manage vendor relations from the technical perspective, and utilize the vendor and other support options to resolve issues that are beyond internal application expertise.
• Understand the applications roadmaps and understand the positive or negative impacts of implementing changes.
• Administer application configuration, security, licensing, and renewals.
• Understand and document the application technical architecture for development, test and production environments, and how other applications interact with it. This includes any firewalls, multi-factor authentication (MFA) and data encryption used plus AD Groups and Service Accounts used for application or data access.
• Provide support for integration with other applications, including Application Programming Interfaces (API), scripts, and maintain a record of the integrations, frequency and timing.
• Provide direct Tier II and III level support to end users of technical applications; includes resolving issues, conducting training, and recommending and implementing technical solutions.
• Follow internal controls processes, and provide internal controls information for Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) designated applications to the compliance team.
• Work closely with each of the other groups in Information Technology, to provide the best possible application delivery and support to the end user community for the assigned applications.
• Coordinate changes through the change control process, including testing & obtaining signoff from business and Information Technology approvers, and monitor implementation and impact of changes.
• Understand and administer tools supporting the application.

What you should bring to the table:

• In-depth understanding of one or more of the following Accounting systems and applications (or equivalent):

o Enertia (Enterprise Accounting)

o OpenInvoice (Invoice processing)

o Source-to-Pay System (Procurement and Invoicing processing)

o AFE Workflow System (Project expenditure tracking)

• A solid technical understanding of Microsoft SQL Server 2016 and above, SQL scripting, ODBC, DNS, TCP/IP, and Windows 10.
• Demonstrate consistent, logical and rational approach to issues including troubleshooting and problem solving.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications Excel, Word and Visio. Access and Project are a plus.
• Demonstrate the ability to acquire an understanding of applications from both a technical support and users’ viewpoints, including absorbing new information rapidly, and proposing new or effective approaches to problems.
• Knowledge of Change Controls; processes and procedures, and in particular, SOX requirements as they relate to financial controls.
• Experience in configuring and supporting Access database applications a plus.
