Physical Requirements
The physical requirements of this position include: occasionally lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects 25lbs and above; occasionally standing and/or walking with objects 10lbs and above ; intermittently sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time with repetitive motions (such as typing); and effectively communicating both verbally and in writing with patients, caregivers, and staff at all levels.

Shift
Primarily day shift, Monday-Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm with occasional evenings and weekends per departmental needs.

Job Summary
The University of Kentucky HealthCare Enterprise (UKHC) is seeking an Application Analyst I (Ancillary) role. This role will be held accountable for establishing strong credibility and collaboration with our physicians, customers, department leadership, affiliated organizations, and all Information Technology staff members. This is a highly matrixed organization which requires excellent interpersonal skills, persuasion and influencing skills, and the ability to lead large multi-disciplinary teams through significant amount of varied work assignments. The Application Analyst I supports the implementation and ongoing application maintenance and support of ancillary, clinical, financial, revenue cycle, and administrative applications including, but not limited to, changes, enhancements, product feature/service packs, hotfixes, patches, and upgrades. Additional duties include performing and monitoring daily maintenance and auditing of critical application files to ensure performance and data integrity between interacting and interfacing systems, as well as contributing to problem analysis, IT support of the HLA Laboratory, decisions and planning in application processes. In collaboration with ITS Integration, this position will monitor and resolve interface issues and will actively participate in unit, functional/system, and integration testing.
This position has been identified as supporting UK HealthCare, which receives funding from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Therefore, all individuals hired into this position must comply with the federal CMS mandate issued in March of 2022. This mandate requires all new hires to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or obtain an approved medical or religious exemption as a condition of employment. Start of employment cannot occur until two weeks after receiving the full COVID-19 vaccination series or upon obtaining an approved exemption. Only vaccines approved by the World Health Organization can be accepted.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Four years experience implementing and supporting healthcare information systems/applications will operate effectively within a matrixed organization; demonstrates strong analytical and qualitative research experience; be well organized; have exceptional communication skills (written & verbal); enjoy working independently as well as closely with their co-workers in a supportive team environment; outstanding computer skills (to include Microsoft Office); above average customer service skills; strong ability to engage and motivate others; and active listening skills.

Preferred Education/Experience
BA/BS in Nursing, Biology, HealthCare Administration or Informatics, Business Administration or Computer Science preferred. Four years experience implementing and supporting Cardiology healthcare information systems/applications preferred.
