What To Expect
The Inventory Fleet team manages the allocation and utilization of thousands of Tesla vehicles across our sales and service centers in North America. Determining the best strategies to ensure that our Fleet is most appropriately allocated and effectively used directly impacts our ability to achieve Sales and Delivery goals while providing an incredible customer experience. Our team is looking for a candidate with a strong analytical mindset to support the growth of our programs.
In this role, your area of focus will be to provide team wide support in the form of data, tools, and analytics. You will become a primary resource to the fleet program leads in developing our growing list of operational dashboards, reporting, and tracking tools. You will also get opportunities to work cross-functionally with other departments as a fleet representative to support data requests or to drive new initiatives. You will also be responsible for producing high quality reporting on a weekly, monthly, quarterly cadence.
What You’ll Do
  • Take responsibility for improving and maintaining vehicle data within our internal systems.
  • Contribute to Service and Sales Fleet related digital developments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improving data quality, accuracy, and completeness. Aide in auditing and tracking down internally assigned vehicles, freeing up Finished Goods Inventory for sale and assisting with periodic physical inventory Fleet Audits
  • Aggregate data to generate weekly/monthly/quarterly business reporting.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can be used to drive business decisions. Build tools to educate and onboard teams on ideal Operating Fleet processes.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as necessary when new business needs arise
  • Create data visualizations and reports to communicate insights effectively to stakeholders.
  • Create Excel models and run ad hoc analysis as requested by leadership.
  • Function as the primary point of contact for Sales, Service, and Internal Fleet vehicle users (Location Managers, Service Advisors, Sales Advisors, Logistics, Security, etc.) to coordinate vehicle allocations and ensure appropriate utilization.
  • Provide strategic insights and conclusions based on analysis, including concise, digestible arguments with data.
  • Lead cross-departmental operations across multiple stakeholders to optimize vehicle allocations, activations, and utilization for Tesla to operate efficiently.
  • Write SQL queries to extract data from various databases and data sources.
What You’ll Bring
  • Open-minded, collaborative, and team-oriented attitude with the ability to think outside the box for solutions to complex challenges.
  • Aptitude to quickly learn new systems/technical applications. Experience with business intelligence software (Tableau, Power BI, MySQL, etc.) is a plus.
  • Passion for Tesla’s products and belief in Tesla’s mission to accelerate the transition to sustainable energy.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks based on demand despite changes in work scope or focus.
  • Strong quantitative critical thinking skills with advanced knowledge of Excel and retail math concepts
  • Ability to drill down and become a subject matter expert, categorize, and simplify complex problems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to form solid relationships cross-functionally to be able to influence without authority.
  • Minimum 3 years related allocation, retail planning or decision-driving analytical role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Enthusiasm and aptitude for working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a high degree of ambiguity.
