General Overview
The Cook County Treasurer’s Office seeks a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our organization as an AI Architect/Data Scientist. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing AI solutions that leverage data-driven insights to optimize our organization's efficiency. You will play a crucial role in defining the AI architecture, developing machine learning models, and leading AI initiatives across the organization.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
AI Architecture Design:
- Evaluate and select appropriate AI technologies, frameworks, and platforms to meet the organization's needs.
- Design scalable and reliable AI systems that integrate seamlessly with existing infrastructure.
- Define and develop the overall AI architecture and infrastructure to support the office’s goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and identify AI opportunities.
Machine Learning Model Development:
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI and machine learning, and propose innovative solutions.
- Develop and implement machine learning algorithms and models to solve business problems.
- Apply advanced statistical analysis and machine learning techniques to analyze complex data sets.
- Optimize models for accuracy, performance, and scalability.
Data Analysis and Insights:
- Develop predictive models, statistical analyses, and data visualizations to support decision-making.
- Collaborate with domain experts to understand business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of structured and unstructured data to extract valuable insights.
AI Project Leadership:
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Lead AI projects from inception to deployment, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and timelines.
- Define project requirements, create project plans, and manage resources effectively.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers and data engineers, to implement AI solutions.
Technical Expertise and Guidance:
- Evaluate and recommend tools, libraries, and frameworks for AI development.
- Stay updated on emerging trends and advancements in AI and data science fields.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on AI architecture and data science methodologies.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proven experience working as an AI Architect/Data Scientist, preferably in a complex organizational setting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work on complex, open-ended business problems.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in leading and managing AI projects from initiation to completion.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Power Platform is preferred.
- Solid understanding of statistical analysis, data mining, and predictive modeling techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Strong expertise in AI architecture design, including knowledge of AI technologies, frameworks, and platforms.
- Proficiency in developing and implementing machine learning algorithms and models.
- Extensive experience with programming languages such as Python, R, C#, Java, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, and a minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Software Engineer, preferably with a focus on AI integration or related areas, or equivalent combination of professional work experience, training, and education.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, and a minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a Software Engineer, preferably with a focus on AI integration or related areas OR equivalent combination of professional work experience, training and education.

Salary Range
$150,000 - $170,000 per year, depending on experience.
