We are seeking a talented and passionate industrial design leader capable of creating amazing products and experiences. You will have a unique opportunity to be part of a team that delivers an end-to-end user experience across every user touch point for our Aerospace businesses, using well established human-centered design principles and industrial design to ensure that Honeywell products and applications are the most useful, usable, and desirable products in the marketplace. You will support industrial design initiatives on products globally and contribute directly to creating the next generation of user experiences on a wide variety of consumer, commercial, and industrial products. You will develop brand strategies, product roadmaps and brand design languages. You will be working on a wide variety of products, domains, and applications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conceptual exploration through competitive analysis, field visits to identify unmet user needs, design trend awareness, and ideation. Communicate design intent through visual storytelling to key stakeholders
- Own the conceptual direction of multiple products, through 2D sketching, technical illustrations, renderings, 3D CAD, appearance models.
- Design highly usable products across a broad portfolio of aerospace solutions including avionics, urban air mobility, and space
- Contribute to design proposals through a phase-gate process, delivering exceptional designs based on key objectives and design criteria
- Hardware design, identifying specifications for color/material/finish requirements and engaging with key stakeholders to consider cost/schedule/performance trade-offs relating to construction, assembly, and manufacturing
YOU MUST HAVE
- Due to contractual agreements, must be a U.S. person (US citizen, US permanent resident or individual with protected status)
- A portfolio of demonstrated industrial design skill as shown through concepts and commercialized products
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial design (NASAD accredited) or a related discipline
- Fluent in CAD/CAID and 2D/3D Modeling (Creo, Rhino, or NX experience is a plus)
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
WE VALUE
- Automotive or Aerospace (transportation) experience strongly preferred
- Ability to work closely with business leaders to understand market viability and ensure that product delivery objectives are met
- VR/AR prototyping experience is a plus
- Hardware and electronics prototyping experience is a plus (Arduino microcontrollers)
- Ability to work closely with engineering to ensure that product development objectives are met
- Graduate degree in innovation, user experience design, human factors, user experience design or related discipline
