Job Description

This position serves as a point of contact for the fiscal/procurement functions of the Department of Sociology and the Criminal Justice Research Center and delivers a high level of customer service to faculty, staff and students by ensuring that transactions are processed in a timely, efficient, accurate and compliant manner; initiates procurement requests via Workday as expense data specialist; maintains all general ledger transaction records and assists with monthly general ledger reconciliation; provides ad hoc general ledger transaction data and monthly reports to the administrative manager and other department personnel as appropriate; assists in preparing budgets, responds to fiscal inquiries and resolves issues; maintains department purchasing card and makes deposits when needed; processes travel and payment requests via the Workday system; makes travel arrangements for department guests as needed; oversee key coordination for the department; assists Senior Grants Specialist with post-award administration as needed; supports the Administrative Manager with payroll and position management and other projects as assigned; initiates human resources transactions utilizing Workday as manager liaison; supervises front office student employees and coordinates the hiring process for hourly student employees, acts as Federal Work-Study student coordinator; supports the graduate program coordinator in processing graduate student appointments and graduate fee authorizations; refers individuals to college HR office and university HR resources as appropriate; performs general administrative support duties as assigned by the administrative manager.

Minimum Education Required

High School Diploma or GED

Required Qualifications

2 years of relevant experience.

Additional Desired Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree. Experience working with fiscal/procurement transactions strongly desired; considerable experience with Microsoft Office suite strongly desired; excellent communication abilities and critical thinking skills strongly desired; ability to work in a team-oriented environment strongly desired; knowledge of Ohio State rules and regulations desired.

The pay range for this job profile is $20.53 - $27.36. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
