Job Description
Responsible to: Business Office Manager


Scope of Responsibility: According to prescribed policies and procedures of the organization including all applicable state and federal regulations and under the general supervision of the Business Office Manager assumes responsibility for performing accurate, complete and timely general accounting functions for the facility and clerical duties specific to the Nursing department.


Essential Functions: Rating (for evaluation purposes only)


____A. Carry out duties and function to support Edgewater Place as assigned.


____B. Live the mission and values to improve the quality of services for residents and team members on the Edgewater Place campus.


____C. Respect residents’ rights and adheres to rules of resident care and services as described in the Edgewater Place Employee Handbook.


____D. Verify all purchases with Supervisor before ordered for supplies, equipment, etc.


____E. Prepare orderly payment of accounts payable and vendor file maintenance.


____F. Daily Resident Census; checked & update in Point Click Care (PCC).


____G. Maintain Resident Trust Accounts.


____H. Maintain Job Applications & assist with reference Checks.


____I. Assemble Orientation packets, Marketing packets & Admission packets as needed.


____J. Maintain phone lists and mailing lists. Prepare new resident packet, name on apartment & mailbox, phone & TV box in room and keys to resident.


____K. Assist with development of Edgewater quarterly Newsletter.


____L. Under Nursing supervision, assemble/disassemble medical charts as needed, update resident face sheet and insurance information as needed, assist with Changeover process.


____M. Copy and replenish nursing/doctor/pharmacy forms. Maintain “All Staff” In-service binder. Assist with scheduling transportation to medical appointments for residents.


____N. Keep nursing supervisor informed of problems or issues.


____O. Support marketing efforts as needed.


____P. Demonstrates and maintains a positive, professional manner, manages time efficiently and effectively, provides leadership as a role model to promote a team approach, collaborates and participates in policy creation and appropriate problem-solving methods.


____Q. Performs all other duties as assigned


____R. Serve as a member of the Management Group and assist in the management of the organization. Responsible in all matters to protect and uphold the reputation of Edgewater Place and those served, being attentive to issues of confidentiality, public relations and long-term planning.


Position Requirements


  • Requires the ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently.
  • Requires the ability to see things clearly at 20 inches or less, as is common in visual inspection or computer work.
  • Occasional standing, walking, stooping, reaching, kneeling, pulling, lifting, feeling required.
  • Education & Experience
  • Effective communication, comprehension, computer and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical/Mental Requirements & Working Conditions Employees/applicants may not pose a direct threat or significant risk to the health and safety of themselves or others. Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without the use of prosthetic devices and/or reasonable accommodation.
  • Skills and Requirements
  • Frequent sitting, talking, hearing and repetitive motions required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to speak, read, write and understand English.
  • This position is not substantially exposed to adverse working conditions.
  • Associate degree or certification in a relevant field preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office and the Internet.
  • 2-4 years in a business office and/or healthcare environment preferred.
