JOB DESCRIPTION FOR Accounting Manager
The responsibilities of the accounting manager include managing and supervising the department and employees responsible for full cycle accounting, creating reports for the leadership team, and creating and documenting standards and procedures for sound financial management.
  • As required, assist with additional administrative tasks and initiatives.
  • Charged with aiding Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance activities by educating process owners, helping with documentation, conducting reviews, and finishing controls testing as required.
  • Assist the FP&A team in maintaining the correctness of the financial data.
  • Responsibilities include conducting a critical evaluation of processes and controls, spotting flaws, and helping with corrective action.
  • Produce financial reports and statements by tracking, analyzing, and reporting on GL data from ERP and other pertinent sources.
  • Assist with ad hoc requests, year-end audits, and other corporate-directed projects.
  • Lead and oversee month-end procedures, quarterly and annual closeouts, AP, general ledger, tooling projects, fixed asset management, tax compliance, reconciliations, and other accounting duties.
REQUIREMENTS: Accounting Manager
Bachelor's degree and four years of related experience (preferably in accounting). Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Understanding of financial management reporting and manufacturing systems.
  • The capacity to prioritize various tasks and uphold a high level of organization with little guidance.
  • A track record of success interacting with others.
  • Clear, succinct verbal and written communications.
  • Skilled in the use of computers, especially presentations and intricate spreadsheet models.
  • Powerful analytical abilities, great leadership abilities, and the capacity to instruct individuals and cross-departmental teams and sway decisions.
Preferred experience In addition to the already stated:
  • A professional designation in the relevant field is preferred (e.g., CMA, CFA).
  • Intercompany accounting transactions experience is preferable.
  • Audit/assurance practice area experience in public accounting is preferred.
  • It's advised to have prior knowledge of Baan, Hyperion, and Crystal (SAP) reports.
  • Prior experience translating foreign currencies is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a manufacturing environment, with expertise in target costing, supervision, and tools and methodologies for financial review.
