Job Title: Accounting Assistant


Reports To: AP Supervisor


Position Summary: This position is responsible for various accounts payable and accounts receivable functions in a timely and accurate manner.


Essential Functions


  • Perform the necessary tasks to maintain accounts payable records.
  • Research and follow up on customer payment differences.
  • Prepare monthly payable reports.
  • Provide customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Take responsibility to resolve problems.
  • Strong organizational skills – ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and quick learner
  • Maintain & create spreadsheets for various projects.
  • Strong communication skills while working with vendors and operations.
  • Ability to handle complex coding.
  • Facilitate customer cash applications.
  • Compile and sort documents such as invoices and checks
  • Manage lockbox.


Minimum Qualifications: An associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred. Must have at least 2 years related experience or be a recent college graduate. Must be proficient in Micro-Soft Excel skills, prefer Advanced. Must be well organized and have excellent customer service and communication skills, be a self-starter and a problem solver. Previous experience in construction industry preferred.


This position is subject to the Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) drug & alcohol testing regulations as outlined in 49 CFR Part 382 and/or 49 CFR Part 199.
