Job Description
PURPOSE: Train and develop technical, organizational, and account knowledge to influence customers and to apply services/products to the customer needs resulting in company revenue.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Evaluate accounts and in the areas that there are no sales and develop a strategy to gain that business.
  • Research and develop prospects for new accounts by phone and by networking with existing customers. Follow up on sales leads through cold calls with potential customers.
  • Provide training to customers on various products which are applicable to their operation. This may include demonstrations at their facility or training at ES&E’s locations by using company personnel or vendor representatives.
  • Through sales calls maintain customer contact on a consistent basis by meeting or exceeding company standards. Sales calls may require a team approach utilizing other personnel from inside and outside the organization.
  • Expedite orders with factories and assist in delivering materials to customer to improve our company’s service.
  • Maintain telephone contact with customers to ensure their satisfaction with products, answer questions, and /or schedule appointments.
  • Develop and deliver sales presentations and meet company goals for Business Reviews and Lunch and Learns.
  • Determine market strategies and goals for products and services and explore sales channels with company and supplier representatives.
  • Complete quotations for customers on a timely basis and work consistently to close the sale.
  • Research customer needs and introduce products and services to maintain, compliment or to provide a solution to customer processes. Manage assigned accounts in such a way to sell all products and services offered by ES&E including but not limited to automation and MRO products.
  • Maintain customer profiles, quotes and complete daily sales call reports, mileage logs, etc. using company business system.
  • Look for new business opportunities outside of assigned accounts.
  • Promptly resolve problems and when necessary, expedite returns to promote customer service.
OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Attend trade shows and help assemble/disassemble displays.
  • Comply with all company policies and safety procedures.
  • Help dispose of dead stock.
  • Participate in sales forecasting and planning by maintaining a strong awareness of strategic plans for all accounts.
  • Attend company meetings, sales meetings, product seminars, quality meetings etc. in order to maintain a strong working knowledge of services and products.
  • Maintain customer rebates and pricing with the assistance of Customer Service and Purchasing or branch designee.
  • Work with Customer Service and other company personnel in a professional, cooperative manner to ensure a positive company image, teamwork and achievement of goals.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of literature and samples; provide customers with current catalogs.
  • Aid in the collection of past due accounts and credit problems.
Requirements
  • Education: Minimum level: Four-year engineering degree or applicable technical degree or applicable experience.
  • Must be able to use the following equipment: computer, drive a vehicle, different electrical products, small hand tools.
  • Must have sales skills comprised of good communication skills (both verbal and written) ability to negotiate, and a professional appearance.
  • Must be computer literate and knowledgeable about compatible software.
  • Experience: Minimum Amount: Two years technical sales experience within the industry or a similar industry.
  • Must have valid NC Driver’s License clean driving record.
  • Position requires mobility and driving long distances daily. Will be working in a variety of environments including but not limited to office, warehouse and manufacturing.
  • Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, and have good people skills.
