Job Description
Position Summary:


The Academic Operations Specialist is a member of the advising team who supports special projects and populations. Responsible for advising students who are in credentialed programs who need to move from state to state. In addition, assists the AVP in the creation, coordination and maintenance of standard metrics and accountability. The Academic Operations Specialist also assists the AVP with special projects with the objective of creating more efficient processes and improved student experience.


Essential Functions:


  • Assist the AVP with the management of the operational workflow of the Student and Financial Services Team.
  • Recommends process changes to improve operational practices/procedures.
  • Serves as liaison with other departments when their projects impact the SFS team.
  • Conducts training as needed.
  • Generates, Monitors progress/improvement data and creates and maintains operations reports.
  • Advise credential students on the impact of changing their state of residency and assist with any paperwork that results from their move.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Collaborates with University departments and staff to facilitate and improve processes and services provided to students.
  • Manages and coordinates assigned operations processes across the SFS team which may include student outreach initiatives, testing and preparation for new systems, student tracking, and process change management.
  • Works closely with SFS leaders and team members to ensure the completion and implementation of projects.
  • Coordinate the collection, maintenance and submission of documents related to the advising and credential processes.
  • Reasonable and consistent Attendance to fulfill requirement of the position

Requirements:


Education & Experience


  • Bachelor's degree with focus in business, education, advising or related field preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience required


Competencies/Technical/Functional Skills:


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of program credential requirements
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and other applications in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated knowledge of student advising or customer support
  • Demonstrated organization skills and management of multiple projects.
  • Ability to proactively analyze technical factors, identify and understand stakeholder concerns and provide solutions that support the best interests of the organization as a whole.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and create win-win situations.
  • Ability to work well across teams.


Travel: No Travel Required


Candidate receiving offers will be offered a salary/pay rate commensurate with experience that vary based on a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies. Absent exceptional circumstances, candidates will be offered a salary within this range for this position. The minimum salary will be offered based on the minimum exemption threshold based on state of residency. Compensation Range:


Hourly: $27.85 - $36.20
