Obtains clinical approval from nursing management prior to admission of the resident.

Must have the ability to successfully relate and respond to the needs of management, employees and residents.

A minimum of 3 years' experience in long term care.

Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and OBRA regulations.

Must have good problem solving skills and good communication skills.

Assures payor source is clear prior to admission. Coordinates with the Business Office to assure follow through.

1+ years of sales experience, ideally in a call center environment.

Solid problem-solving skills, patience, strong communication skills and the ability to stay focused on completing projects.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with a customer service mindset.

Experience with high-touch, high-need customers is a plus.

Answering phone calls for referral to treatment.

Obtaining personal information from a caller for financial obligations, medical/mental health necessities, legal obligations, family/social support, and employment/employer information.

Experience in customer service, including appointment setting and commitment to follow-up skills.

5. Processes all Medicare denial letters, Medicare certification and re-certifications and according to Medicare regulations.

Social Services Essential Job Duties:

1. Obtains referrals from hospital social workers, physicians, or family members keeping wait lists current.

10. Coordinates utilization review for new admissions covered by Medicare Part A.

11. Maintains complete confidentiality regarding admission information and resident records.

12. Assists in coordinating admissions/transfers/discharges with other departments.

Be knowledgeable in the use of micro-computers, data input and output, etc.

Receive and follow work schedule/instructions from the Administrator and as outlined in our established policies and procedures.

Assist in interviewing residents/guardians and obtaining required information and signatures.

Assist in the orientation program for residents/personnel in accordance with our established policies and procedures.

Admit and prepare identification records for residents in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Maintain an accurate record of available beds.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience

3+ years of experience in an admission function in an educational setting

Experience working with children on the Autism Spectrum or special education preferred

Experience working with external constituencies such school districts or Special Education attorneys a plus

Respond to all inquiries in a timely manner and follow up as necessary

Computer literacy is important to the efficient management of a quantity of work.

Highly developed written and oral communication skills.

Complete understanding of Tulane’s academic and extracurricular offerings and admission practices.

Well versed in university culture as well as the unique culture of New Orleans.

Working knowledge of (EMR) Electronic Medical Record and (CRM) Customer Relationship Management Software programs recommended.
